Very nice pad, almost identical its competitors

Very nice pad, both sides feel very good. The thick grey side is very bouncy but also very quiet, especially when stacked on another pad. The hard black side feels and sounds great and offers more of a workout. Feels very similar to its main competitor pads (HQ and VF double siders) On the downside, the wood sounds a little hollow compared to other top name pads, though it is only noticable when the pad is either on a stand or on your lap. Its not bad, just different. When on a table or stacked on another pad it sounds amazing.

Smell is Horrible

I bought the smaller version of this pad, and while it's fine to play on, the smell is just terrible. In my small office, the odor is literally burning my eyes. I've had the pad for a couple weeks now, and it's just not dissipating. I've tried washing it with soap water and even solvents to no avail. This is going back to the store.

I bought this practice pad for my nine-year-old who started taking drum lessons. It is perfect for indoor practice. It's quiet and mobile and she can carry it around to different places and practice her room. It has two sides to give her better options.

My grandson just started drum lessons. I didn't want to invest money in a complete drum set in case he didn't want to stick with it. This practice pad is portable and easy for him to practice his skills.
