The Soyuz Launcher is no ordinary preamp. It’s not meant to be transparent and clean like other gain boosters. The Launcher brings rich, warm, old-school sound to recordings made with a common dynamic mic and an ordinary interface. The Launcher makes your mics sound like they’re running through a vintage console—even when they’re plugged into a simple interface or PA system. Soyuz developed the Launcher through years of beta testing and feedback from real musicians and engineers around the world.

Dream in Color

The Launcher imparts a truly special character and color that will add vibe and sheen to any recording. With its custom hand-wound transformer, the Launcher’s warm character will change the way you use dynamic and ribbon microphones.

Prepare for Take Off

Whether on the stage, in the booth or in your bedroom, the Launcher gives your microphones the ability to perform incredibly well with virtually any interface or preamp by optimizing the sound of your source, boosting your gain by 26 dB, and lowering the amount of audible noise in your signal chain.

Take Your Sound With You

If you’re a musician, home or professional engineer, voiceover artist, podcaster or content creator, the Launcher will help take your recordings to the next level.

I'm not a powerful singer and the sound man frequently has needed to "reach" to get my vocal to cut through the mix. With this preamp is just what we needed to solve the issue, and now we have more than enough headroom. My vocals cut through great!

I picked this up to use with my AEA R84. I have enough gain from my RPQ500, but I thought I would give this thing a shot to see if it added anything special. It really does. The recorded track just comes alive with a bit more warmth and punch in the most musical way. I am really happy with it.

Understand that what you're about to read is coming from an announcer and "VO guy." The premise is simple. You've a collection of dynamic & ribbon mics that you use for a variety of purposes. Let's say you have ten different mics. You've gotten used to their sound. Enter the Soyuz Launcher. Now, all of a sudden, you have access to 20 different sounds! The Launcher will make the mic louder by about 25 dB or so; your results may vary. What the Launcher does beyond that is … sonic alchemy. My first test mic was the Electro-Voice 635A omni, connected to a Mackie Onyx mixer. The difference in sonority was obvious & immediate. We're talking about subjective criteria here – but to summarize, I would have to call a "Launcherized" 635A a "635LRC" for "Louder, Rich & Creamy." The same held true for every microphone I introduced into the Soyuz Launcher world. That list included several more Electro-Voice dynamic workhorses: The RE-10, -15, -16, -55 … and the PL-9. The Shure SM-53 and SM-63. The Heil PR30 and PR40. And finally, a ribbon: The Beyerdynamic M-500. In each case, the Launcher imparted a pleasant dose of smooth "vintage mojo" character that simply made the microphone's output more "listenable." As of this writing, I have yet to connect the Launcher to any of the other "boutique-quality" microphone preamplifiers I'm fortunate to own – and I have no doubt that the Launcher will impress in this milieu as well. For me, The Soyuz Launcher is a "No Regret Purchase." It has earned a permanent place in my dynamic microphone signal chain. Mechanically, it is well-built "like a tank," heavy & sturdy; a high-quality piece of equipment. In summation, I don't see how you can go wrong buying a Launcher & putting it to use with whatever dynamic & ribbon mics you have in your collection.
