Continuing a 40-year legacy of innovation and top-notch craftsmanship, the new Spector Bantam 4 electric bass is a short-scale powerhouse that packs a serious punch. With a 30" scale length and a carefully chambered body, the Bantam is light and extremely comfortable to play. The Bantam features the classic NS body style that is fully carved and contoured to the player's body using lightweight, chambered alder and a gorgeous quilted maple top. The deep-inset bolt-on neck ensures the utmost resonance and projection, while providing an effortless playing experience with its perfectly carved neck profile and fast 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard. The Bantam is loaded with two EMG 35DC pickups as well as an EMG BTS active EQ circuit, allowing for maximum versatility when paired with your favorite pedals and amp.

    I've been playing long scale basses since I started at 13 yrs old… I think. As I got older, Arthritis is taking its toll, especially Left shoulder. Need new one, but not ready. So… Started looking for a lighter bass…( found it… under 8LBS. ) Then started leaning to medium scale. Have always loved Spectors. Very little study led me to the Bantam. Neck is superb. Active EMG electronics with 2 EMG humbuckers. Bass is basically an NS with short neck. Medium scale basses I've dealt with in the past were usually a little muddy. Not this bass. The carved out body is very comfortable. Fit & Finish is typically great like most Spectors. After lugging a 5-string Warwick around, this ax is a godsend. Yep, maybe the best short scale bass ever !!!
