The Squier Classic Vibe ‘60s Telecaster Thinline electric guitar is a nod to the early semi-hollow Tele models from the 1960s, offering a distinctive classic sound at an affordable price. This guitar creates its incredible vintage tone courtesy of the Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups. It's also a breeze to play, sporting a comfortable C-shaped neck profile and 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard with narrow-tall frets. The vintage-style Telecaster bridge employs a string-thru-body design and steel saddles for precise adjustment. This throwback Squier model also features 1960s-inspired headstock markings, rich nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tint gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe.

Already knew Squiers were good but this is outstanding

TL;DR: I'm still rather new to playing electrics but this is my eight in about a year. Having had it two days, it is already my favorite. The neck is the most suited to me of any guitar I own or have tried. It is on the thinner side but not at all extreme. For reference, I'm also quite fond of the Fender Player neck. This is just a little thinner. The fingerboard is nicely rolled. This guitar sounds great (clean and crunch on Katana 100) and the fit/finish is spectacular. This is my first semi/hollow and I still can't get over how light it is, without negatively affecting the feel or tone. I passed by this guitar many times on the wall of my local GC until recently it spoke to me. I played it for a while and was quite enamored with the feel of it. I bought the demo unit and took it home. After a little more playing, I learned that the top end of the 13th fret was bad/unlevel. The issue could be very much heard and even seen. But, I was in love. I took it back to the store and there was no fuss at all having them order me a replacement. The replacement, new in box, is in perfect shape. Action and intonation on mine were spot on out of the box. No blemishes whatsoever and while I was rather turned off by the aesthetic of this guitar for a long time, thus having passed by it so many times, it is growing on me. Regardless, she's got a great personality.

Potential but not quite there

If this is the first classic vibe you have picked up, you might be ok with it. But the quality is not there compared with years past. This feels like a step up from a basic Squier, whereas the older CV felt like a cousin to a real Fender Mexican. You CV fans out there will know what i mean. Pluses: this thing is featherweight, always a plus. Switches and pots work fine. Looks perdy. Thats about it. Minus: pickups seem weak, not as good as older CV..but of course CV fans often upgrade. More an issue for me is that this thing would not setup with low action, and I know how to do a setup. Tele's should be able to go low. Arrived w/fret sprout, correctable, but if the action/neck is not there, then why bother swapping pickups etc. Like said, almost...

Great sound, neck feels good and set up was very good. Simi-hollow gives it a great sound.

I have never bought a new guitar before.I wanted to make sure it was a good one. It has been the favorite of Guitar Center employees in San Jose as well as Gilroy. Experienced guitarists are always shocked when they see it is a Squire. I have bought 4 guitars since, and keep coming back.

I was looking for something around $500.00, played 5 or 6 , came right back to this one, I've played for 57 years in various top 20 style classic rock, country, really liked the neck and smoothness of playing on this guitar. And the looks are very impressive. Loved the vintage running keys, I was sold on it at guitar center. Can't beat the price for the quality of the guitar. Never had one of the thin lines, it's very light, I'd buy it again.

I own many Squire CV guitars and they never disappoint. This one is no different. Solid construction, great finish and underpriced in my opinion. Just needed a strong change and some tweaks to the action and truss rod. Looking forward to many years of love from this one.

  • Not for me.

Had it for about two days, noticed the 7th fret had horrible buzz. Came to the conclusion that the fret had been placed on funky in the factory. Other than that a solid guitar (or a semi hollow, if you must) just not for me.

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 7.5 – 9.0 lbs.---------------- Nickel Plated Steel (.009-.042 Gauges)

I tried one of these at my local GC. Beautiful guitar, but the action was set extremely high. I am not familiar with this type of bridge -- is it possible to lower the action? It was so high that it was almost unplayable for me at the store. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is possible to adjust the bridge. The store can even help you out with that.
