It has a nice thin neck (it felt thinner than the Sonic mustang HH), good fret work (better than some newer fender MIM teles I tried) and no bridge buzz. The single coils are really good and will growl when you get an amp cookin', nothing like the thin ceramic strat bridge pickups from the old squier days. Middle position is well balanced and has a Smiths (Jaguar?) vibe. The tuners and switch are solid. The pots actually work. Tone pots has pretty good range for a cheap guitar. If you are a good guitar player and have a good amp, it will sound good.

My son wants to be a rocker. He has no interest in learning how to play acoustic. After doing research, this guitar was suggested. It is perfect. He loves it and is rocking right along.

I liked this guitar from the moment I first saw it on the Guitar Center webpage. Graffiti Yellow as in the color of John Milner's car in the movie "American Graffiti". So I grabbed it without delay. Great color and finish and very playable right outta the box. Thanks Guitar Center. #sweepstakes

Classic tone very warm on the clean side. Typical single coil buzz, but not in the two and four position of the five way.

I purchased this guitar mostly out of curiosity. How good could a $???.?? Squier be? Actually ,it's nice. +'s. Nice paint, good neck, well done hardware, decent very usable pickups, ok tuners, ok strings, ok nut, expected inexpensive electronic controls (functions properly)and the full assembly was done properly. I was pleasantly surprised at how much time was spent on the fret ends and fretboard edge. Very well rounded off fret ends.I consider that a bonus for sure! -'s. The neck has apparently an extremely thin sealant applied. This is fine but may have caused a problem a week later. I will explain at the review end. The setup on this guitar was playable but had room for a vast improvement (which I did)and now it's as it should be. The saddles are cast (again expected) but function fine. The body sealant, paint and clear coat add up to a fairly thick shell over the wood. This is very common with todays manufacturing process. The body is thin(expected). This guitar is fine as is from the factory and should provide years of enjoyment. These are mods I made with used parts I had on the shelf. Dimarzio DP116BK pickups , treble bleed circuit and up one gauge size strings. THATS IT. The results are excellent. These mods made this little short scale guitar a very versatile solid body Surprise!! It also doubled the cost but whose Counting. Concerning the thin coat neck sealant. The neck pocket fit was wood on wood. I live in a humidity shifting climate. After one week both sides of the neck pocket cracked in the corners. I removed the neck to verify it was cracked. It was. I stopped the cracks from farther movement and was successful with a minimal invasive trick I learned many years ago. I think if the neck was sealed better it might have prevented the cracks but wide humidity variations can wreak havoc on guitars I'm finding out.
