I bought this to have a guitar that stands out and boy does it ever! The only minor issue I have is the metal frets cut my fingers the first time I played it. It sounded great out the box!

Out of the box the guitar had sharp frets and the intonation needed minor adjustments. String height/action was spot on. Under the pickguard I discovered it is routed for three humbuckers which really makes this a great guitar to mod!

  • Perfect guitar after some minor upgrades and TLC

Guitar has become a new favorite. After intonating, fret polishing and locking tuners the guitar plays as good as it's big brother Fender. I've avoided squires all my life because they have been made in China but I noticed they switched to Indonesia. Quality is night and day. Absolutely a keeper at the price point.

I was looking for a cheap HSS strat of some sort to mod. This thing plays great! And stays in tune ok. However I already upgraded the tuners to Gotoh and the pickups to a JB in the bridge and vintage Dimarzio's for the neck and middle, CRL 5-way switch, 500k CTS pots and a vintage Sprague Vitamin Q tone cap. All these parts I already had. The next mod will be a Floyd Rose Rail Tail (narrow). I got the Lime Green one during the Memorial Day sale brand new for dirt cheap. Im really surprised how good the neck and frets are. AND it was in tune and intonated when I got it. Just wow!

Just received mine, i had played around with one in the store and thought it wasnt bad (minus the mile high action) but of course it was the only one in the area so i ordered one, right out of the box it needed a slight truss adjustment and tuned up (as most shipped guitars will), 1st impression was i didnt know if I'd like the color or not but after awhile i kinda like it, its different for sure. The frets didnt feel scratchy but a tad rough on the fret ends but mild, fit and finish overall is good, neck is a little on the slimmer side (which would be good for a younger or smaller person) but its comfortable, its a smooth satin finish (which i prefer), plugged in i was expecting to hear alot of noise but its actually fairly quiet even with alot of gain (more on this shortly), it has the strat sound and clean sounds great, now i ran it through a boss metalcore pedal and noticed the humbucker is a bit thin sounding and gets fizzy on alot of gain (i know alot of people arent buying this for metal though!) but it was fixed with some eq tweaking. Overall i own over 20 guitars and bought this on sale on a whim, but that being said, its a fun guitar and you could do alot worse at this price point, would make an excellent beginner or backup guitar or even a good modding platform. Ive played a few at this price range that should've served as firewood....this one will be going on the stand and not the fireplace!
