I know this electric cello is not as good as a Yamaha, but i expected better quality for the price. There is not much to an electric cello when it comes to hardware. First problem out the box was a short in the preamp. I opened it up and fixed the issue, loose wires. The pre amp could be better, barely hear it when I have my headphones on. I use this electric cello with a small 15w acoustic amp for practice while Im on the road, really improves the sound and volume on my headphones. The neck is some type of plastic material, and the stock strings that came with it are awful. I switched them out for a used set Spirocore/Larsen combo I had lying around, big improvement. It would not stay tuned with the stock tuner pegs. Replaced them with some after market tuners pegs, stays in tune now. The cello bow that came with cello was so cheap I just set it aside and used my carbon fiber bows. Now the bridge will need to be adjusted so I will have to take it to a luthier. I want to be clear! This is NOT a Guitar Center problem, I love their customer service, and a rep.called me several times to follow up. THIS IS A STAGG POOR QUALITY ISSUE.
