Just what was needed.

I make this review on behalf of my son. I ordered this on my account so I get to review it! This stand is ideal for stage. It's compact and perfectly functional (including for an electric mando). It folds up small and holds the mando stable. And it's not obtrusive. Very recommendable! We'll see how durable it is over time... but it looks solidly built and folds up in a way that protects the weaker points.

Poorly assembled - twice!

When this stand arrived, it seemed to be made with sturdy material, but it wasn't level. The "feet" of the stand would not all touch the surface it was sitting on at the same time. It seemed to not be assembled correctly. I have an interestingly shaped charango which I've had difficulty finding a stand for. This stand worked for the shape of my instrument, but I returned it and ordered the same stand again, hoping the next one would be assembled properly. The same stand arrived a week later and although the legs of the stand sat straight, all other joints of this stand were so loose it "jiggled." Also, when lowering the "arms" that the instrument sits on, the paint scraped off like others mentioned in other reviews. I am very disappointed by the consistently poor assembling of this product. I am keeping this stand only because I haven't found another one that will hold my very different-shaped charango. In the box the stand come in, there is a card that says, "A QUALITY PRODUCT FROM STAGG". Come on Stagg!! If you really cared about quality or knew what it is, you would do something about the way this stand is assembled.

  • Won't fit a Baritone Uke

I bought this to do dual duty, holding vintage lap steels and a vintage Harmony Baritone Uke. It fits the steels but not the Uke. It will support it but it's too deep and sits precariously. I got 2 of them with points so not a big deal and it does hold both my 6 & 8 string lap steels. If you've got one of these Harmony Baritones and there's 1000's out there it won't fit. Get a String Swing made for Ukes.

  • Good for Lap Steels too!

Bought 2 of these to use for Alamo 6 & 8 string lap steels. Works for my Baritone Uke also. Stable and portable. Good value!
