Awesome Bass

Went to my local GC this week and tried out about a dozen basses including a couple jazz basses, 4 precision basses, an Ibanez BTB, Ibanez Soundgear, Ibanez EHB, Ernie Ball Stingray Special, ranging in price from $550 up to over $2k. This humble little Ray24 was the hands down winner. I was shocked. It plays like butter, looks great and sounds fantastic. The 2-band preamp gives a ton of flexibility. It's fat sounding in the right way (not muddy or tubby). I picked up the white version with tinted maple neck and red tortoise-style pick guard. I wasn't 100% sold on the looks at first, but now I think it looks awesome. Highly recommended!

Fret work: Perfect. No sharp ends. Intonation: Perfect. Neck: Needed to be straightened a bit, but that's normal with any new bass. Sound: Great, but factory pickup height is pretty high and hot, so I had to lower it to keep it on-par with my other basses.
Love it

I have ALWAYS loved everything about a Music Man Stingray and this is no exception. I love the "jazz bass" neck profile which makes the neck super fast and love the tones I get from it. I am going to change the wiring from series to parallel to give it that more classic stingray tone.

Went to my local GC with the mentality of buying either a Fender P or Jazz bass. Bass is not my main instrument so I spent a few months prior reading about them and researching pros and cons. Tried both of my main 2 contenders from Fender but still couldn't make up my mind. Ended up trying this one "just to have a buffer in between" ... you know ..listen to my 2 final options with fresh ears....fast forward 10 minutes and the months of research went out the door really quick!!...I knew almost immediately that this was the right one. The same smile this thing put on my face that day is the same smile it keeps putting on my face 8 months later. I love playing it! The tone is good, feels well built , comfortable to play and well balanced. I have zero regrets about buying this bass. It truly feels like a more expensive instrument. My opinion is that either rookies or seasoned bassists can enjoy this thing!
