This pedal definitely colors your tone (adds warm fullness), but it's in a way i like - so i don't mind it - but it could be an issue for some. slight volume boost even with gain all the way down. The harmonic trem setting sounds convincingly like a brown face and has some almost phase like qualities at slower settings. i primarily got this pedal for the harmonic trem and it sounds exactly as i hoped. standard trem is very smooth as well. The first expression pedal i tried (economical moog) had very small effect, but a dunlop exp worked pretty well, though still doesn't cover the full range of the sweep - but enough that it is usable for adjusting the speed on the fly in a live setting. It would be nice to find a pedal that would sweep the full speed range. solidly built as well. i would highly recommend this pedal if you are going after the brown face trem sound.
