Supro 1606 Super 5W 1x8 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier

Description
The pristine, high-gain audio path of the Supro Super has made it a favorite of recording artists and guitar lovers around the world, as well as one of the most popular vintage Supro items on the used market. The image of a mic’d up vintage Supro 1606 Super amp is featured prominently in the liner notes of the 2016 Rolling Stones album Blue and Lonesome revealed as the CD is lifted from the jewel case. The voicing of this USA-assembled reissue of the Supro Super amplifier was meticulously derived from a vintage example loaned to Supro USA by Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry.
To capture the sound of the vintage Jensen speaker found in the original Supro amps of the early 1960s, the 1606 Super features a custom-made 8" speaker that was designed by Eminence and Supro USA with help from Iowa State University, where the designers were able to laser scan and recreate the speaker cone from a “golden sample” of Supro's favorite vintage Jensen speaker.

Perfection in a small platform

Excellent pedal platform. It exceeded all of my expectations. For an 8 inch speaker, this thing gets LOUD. If it ever breaks, I'll be quick to buy another.
I would probably buy this again, due to the different tone.

It sounds great as a practice / studio amp. You can unplug the internal speaker, and plug in an 8 ohm cab, which makes it sound larger than the 8" speaker. The cab is solid wood, and cosmetics were perfect. I am fortunate to have a selection of amps that have been collected over the years. To me this amp is for someone that is looking for good tone at a reasonable volume for home practice, or a quick grab and go for an informal, low volume jam / rehearsal / audition. This amp has a different tone than any of my other amps, (Vox, Marshall, Fender, and Orange)
