Keeley Custom 10 Demo with Sara Labriola | Supro

Description
Designed in collaboration with Keeley Electronics, the Supro Keeley is built to integrate your pedals into the heart of an all-tube Supro amplifier. The preamp and 2-band EQ section are voiced perfectly for running your gain pedals in front of the amp, while still maintaining Supro’s signature midrange girth and phenomenal touch dynamics. A transparent effects loop has been worked into the design, providing the ideal point to inject your delay and reverb stompboxes into the amplifier’s all-tube signal path. A master volume circuit allows you to control the sound pressure level coming from the speaker, while pouring on copious amounts of gain from the 12AX7-based tube preamp or your favorite dirt pedals.
This 25-watt combo takes Supro’s classic rock tones a step further by crafting a design that allows you to get the best out of your stompbox collection. The preamp in the Supro Keeley gives you the headroom needed for the tone from your pedals, while the effects loop allows you to place time-based effects downstream. The amp features a Bruce Zinky designed cathode-biased “Class-A” power section loaded with premium Tung-Sol 6V6GT tubes to achieve an instantly recognizable Supro sound. A custom-made CR10 speaker provides deep bass response with perfectly voiced highs to give you unparalleled performance in a portable, 1x10 combo amp.
The Supro Keeley amplifier is an all-tube design that is hand-assembled and tested by musicians in Port Jefferson, NY, USA. With a combined feature set that can accommodate virtually any stompbox-based setup, this unique Supro combo is the perfect canvas for your art. This versatile pedal platform is not only what Keeley designs on, it’s built with the iconic tone of a Supro amplifier.

Great Pedal Platform

Build quality and looks are excellent. If anything else, it was a nice change from the usual black tolex or tweed most amps are covered in. The clean headroom is there for small gigs, and the tone is more neutral than say a Fender Princeton (what I bought it to compare to). It's not a loud 25 W (I have an 18 W Marshall that seems quite a bit louder; maybe speaker efficiency differences), nor particularly punchy. It's a very warm tone that's very easy on the ears. In fact, it was ultimately why I sent it back. Even with the treble maxed and the bass minimized, my overdrive pedals still had to be pushed in same direction (more highs/mids, less bass) to get a good crunch tone. I did really like the overdrive tones I could get by pushing the volume up, but I have plenty of other amps that do that well, so I couldn't justify keeping this one. The effects loop is quiet, but it doesn't work well for dynamics; putting an eq pedal in the loop will not give a volume boost, just more saturation/compression. Again, I liked it better than the Fender (not as mid scooped, and the breakup sounded much better to me), loved the ascetics, but just too dark for my taste.
Pretty Cool

I have pretty much zero complaints and how can you when the price point is reasonable. (note this is very important). I typically use a Friedman BE 100w, but lugging it around, especially for band practice, is brutal. So I embarked on a quest to find a all tube combo. Sometimes you just run into things and you just never know. Research on Youtube, buy return, buy return, then finally bingo, this amp rocks. Well with this amp it is buy and keep. The positives: it's loud enough to play with a full band. The single channel has great tones and breaks up nicely when cranked. Getting a nice clean tone is as simple as rolling back the volume and adjusting the master. My pedals actually are awesome on this amp and I'm have a great time playing them with min. buzz, cuz I like fuzz. Another positive is the 35 lbs. Now the negative: No reverb, but that's ok, pedals can dial that in. The size seems a bit small, but when you're used to SUV size amps and you down size to this little guy, you realize, dang why didn't I get this earlier. In all, I'm digging the Supro tone, price point and size.

Great pedal platform. Really compliments any kind of pedal board you run through it.

As intended, it's a great pedal platform amp. The amp doesn't color your sound at all, is almost a "reference" amp. The pefals you use will do most of the tone shaping. The 10" speaker has a great well rounded bass response, better than my Princeton ( but without the sparkle), but that's why I have both. The effects loop is phenomenal. Built like a tank, world-class construction all around. If you love pedals like I do, you need this amp.
