I bought 2 of these for drum overheads 20 years ago. I still have them, and use them in my studio before any other stand. Nice heavy metal construction makes them the go to stand. So I bought 2 more last week because the 4 for $80.00 brand are a joke. The money spent on the Tamas is well worth it.

I've used every stand you can imagine. Spend the extra cash on this stand. It's a one time investment, because it's built right, and won't break or sag - and the price is right. The only flaw with this stand is that you need to super glue the adaptor thread to the stand (the piece that the mic clip screws on to. Once you order it, you'll know what I'm talking about). It's a low cost fix, so don't let that discourage you. It's so easy a caveman could do it.

Finally, a boom mic stand that stays where you put it! I knew I was going to like this stand before I ever opened the box. It had a heft to it that was a promise of good things to come. If I were a microphone retailer this is the stand I would use to display my products. The chrome is elegant, the hardware solid. Beauty and function. I'm using it in a home studio setup where the stand placement necessitates using the boom nearly fully extended with a condenser mic on the end of the boom. No problem. I love this stand. I have no problem paying twice the cost of a cheap stand in order to get one that will probably outlive me. I'll pass it down to the grandkids. Money well spent.

I bought four of these stands to replace some of the cheap junk that keeps getting broken. The TAMA stands are a top-notch design and the manufacturing quality is flawless. Everything cinches up effortlessly and stays put. I am looking forward to many years of use.

The stand is strudy and very easy to set up. I used it in the studio and at a gig and it worked perfectly, I would recommed this stand to anyone in search of a professional looking and working, long lasting mic stand.
