    If you do any kind of self-recording with the Tascam devices for which this is designed, it's almost a crime not to add this 3-way foot switch. The ability to assign and control functions like stop and rewind, for example, are much smoother transitions with this rather than having to take hands off an instrument and push small buttons on the recorder. The cord to plug this in is generously long, which also frees you up from having to stand right next to the recorder. Finally, the foot switch is wide enough to be easily tapped without hunting for it on the floor and knocking it sideways in dim light, and the low profile is stable even on carpet.

    I own both a DP03 and a DR40 and record at home as my own engineer( I suspect a lot of you know where I'm coming from.) and this footswitch has made the process so much easier. I just use the pause play and record functions and they were plug and play and intuitive. There seems to be more that it can do but that will take some experimenting. If you have a Tascam recorder, scrape your change together and buy this, you won't regret it.
