collapse expand iconDescription

The TC Electronic Echobrain delay effects pedal brings iconic analog delay tones to your pedalboard in a compact stompbox. With its all-analog bucket brigade circuit, the Echobrain serves up lush, warm echoes reminiscent of vintage delay units. From subtle slapback effects to long, ambient delays, the Echobrain provides organic delay tones perfect for guitarists looking for a vintage delay flavor.

Travel Through Time With a Vintage Analog Delay

The Echobrain's bucket brigade circuit gives you the cherished delay tones of yesteryear. You'll get smooth, organic repeats that envelop your playing in rich ambience. Dial in short delays for rockabilly slapbacks and rock lead tones. Or extend the delay time for Gilmour-esque solos dripping in analog character. The Echobrain captures those sought-after vintage delay sounds in a modern stompbox built for today's players.

From Short Slaps to Runaway Repeats

With up to 300ms of delay time, the Echobrain offers versatility for crafting your delay sounds. At shorter settings, your echoes will be more articulate and present. But as you increase the delay time, the analog circuitry naturally rolls off the high end for a warm, diffused delay trail. Maxing out the time introduces oscillation for chaotic, runaway echoes. Crank up the repeats control to overload the delay into endless regenerating echoes.

Intuitive Delay Controls

The Echobrain keeps things simple with just three knobs for sculpting your delay sounds. The time knob sweeps from short slaps to long ambient echoes. Mix controls the delay volume relative to your dry tone. And repeats adjusts the number of echo repetitions. Whether you're a delay novice or veteran, the Echobrain makes it easy to dial in lush vintage echo tones.

Compact Size, Giant Tones

Despite its mammoth analog tones, the Echobrain takes up minimal space on your pedalboard. TC Electronic fit the bucket brigade circuitry into a small, rugged metal chassis with top-mounted jacks. This allows you to easily integrate those classic delay sounds into even the most crowded pedalboards. And with true-bypass switching, the Echobrain won't alter your core tone when disengaged.

Affordable classic analog delay

When the delay I wanted (which was $100 more) issued a second version and raised the price $20, I decided to switch gears and look for a different analog delay to replace my vintage tabletop BBD delay. Once I realized that I didn't need the extra features of the more expensive delay, I went with this and have not yet been disappointed! I could reproduce my favorite long slapback sound from a song I recorded, plus I use the shorter delay times to create a "thickened" and/or "metallic" sound. Yes, it will go into self-oscillation, which makes it interesting instrument in itself (though this is a common BBD delay feature). The only downsides I experienced were the size, weight, and inconvenience of battery replacement. The case is roughly 3"x5" (larger than TC's other pedals like Hall of Fame)-this was a bit of a problem as I had a narrow slot on my pedalboard. Fortunately, it had top-loading jack ports and the case just barely fit the opening I had alloted for it. It's heavy too (though its solid feeling will reassure some). Lastly, I was a bit frustrated that I had to unscrew four screws, which practially disassembles the thing, in order to add a 9V battery. Luckily for me, I had already planned to use a 1 Spot on it. This pedal, though lacking in some of the bells and whistles of something like the Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail, is a true, well-made analog BBD delay at an amazing price.

SHORT DELAY 300 ms MAX

This delay probably makes Great slapback and room ambience BUT If your looking for long repeats this edal only goes up to 300 ms. Thats about a third of a second. My boss dd7 goes up to 3200 ms thats 3.2 seconds between repeats BUT its digital. The analog setting goes up to 800 ms.

Really great sound quality but my first Echobrain had loose parts inside so I exchanged for another. Second unit worked well for a month and then went bad. Runaway feedback with no audio input, rendered it useless. I will stay away from TC Electronics.

  • quality sound, maintains guitar tone, no noise, impressed

This pedal can put out a very high quality slapback tone that works well to enhance a clean guitar tone or in an effects chain with some OD, distortion or fuzz in front of it. It has good headroom to allow you to put a decent amount of hi gain through it without it muddying up. It has plenty of delay time to get into some spacey effects. It will start self oscillating around 2 o clock on the feedback dial (which is fun to play with) but it has plenty of usable tones for organic and natural sounding analog delay. Does not cause any tone loss in use or in true bypass like many other pedals do. Can be used on its own without any boost or overdrive in front of it, has some clean boost built in. Exceeded expectations.

I was looking for an analog delay for slap back effect. This fitted my need perfectly. I'm very please with the sound of this pedal. It is well constructed.

Low cost. Chasis is sturdy and good build. Too much, too soon. Not enough range in the pentometers and seems all or nothing. Increases high end way too much. Almost needs it's own EQ
