2nd review after 3 years

I gave this guitar a strong review when I bought it and I still love it, but I have some serious concerns. It has always had tuning issues, and I've taken it to a few luthiers, and spent more than the guitar's price, trying to resolve issues. The main issue is the almost consistent problem staying in tune. I upgraded to Grover tuning machines and tweaked the set up. It now goes out of tune before the first song is finished, and on stage, that's unforgivable. It almost seems like it's unusually sensitive to temperature and humidity. It DOES help if you can store it overnight at the venue, but that's almost never practical. And you can't just tune it mid-song, nor even between songs during a live stage performance. When I compare it with my new Taylor 6-string, the Taylor tends to stay in tune for multiple songs, even when using a capo. The bigger issue and the real elephant in the room is the intonation inaccuracy. Tune all 12 strings perfectly at the end of the neck, and check it at the 12th fret, and it isn't even close. It's not even correct at the first few frets when chording. When intonation is good, a 12 string can sound like multiple guitars, but not when you can audibly hear two strings that should be exactly the same tone (during a chord), but are way off. So I tweak it and then it's off elsewhere on the neck. Long story short, Takemine mis-located their bridge, so despite the straight fret compromise that every guitar has, this guitar we'll never sound right. I believe a good luthier can fix this, but it would be major reconstruction...when it's cheaper to just buy a better built guitar. It could be because of their Chinese factory. But I'm sure not going to buy a John Jorgensen Takemine built in Japan for 2 grand, if their cheaper model has these kind of problems. At 3 years of constant playing on stage, a guitar should sound better...not worse!

Great guitar I use it daily and it stays in tune, sounds great. It was my first 12 string guitar and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice.

Just picked this one up today, the color see me in and I had to give it a shot. It is beautiful and plays even more beautiful than it looks. Remember, almost no guitar is perfect out of the box, before I purchased it, the tech worked with me to adjust the trust rod accordingly to get the perfect action. No fret buzz, great action and beautiful sound One of my new favorites

Does this guitar have a double truss rod for added support and stability?
I wasn't sure if all Takamine guitars have this for their 12 string line ups or not? Also what is the recommended strings setup for this 12 string as to not go over the recommended tension

This guitar does not come with a hard shell case included but it would be compatible with almost any standard 12 string guitar case.

Hi there, are the strings adjusted to the norms ? (Not to close or far from the neck of the guitar)
I would also like to know if the height of the strings in regard to the neck is adjustable or not?
Do we pay custom taxes on our purchase?
