Taylor

collapse expand iconDescription

Taylor's 200 Series delivers all the essentials of a great guitar: exquisite playability, a full and articulate voice, impeccable intonation up the neck, and Taylor's top-of-the-line, professional-grade pickup—at a price that's within reach of many. To add further value to these instruments, Taylor uses genuine West African Responsible Trade Ebony fretboards and bridges to give players the feel and performance that only comes from this amazing wood. A gorgeous layered rosewood back and sides adorn an internal architecture that has been optimized for even more volume and dynamics. All 200 Series guitars ship in a lightweight, Taylor gig bag with double-stitched seams and reinforced stress points.

Body Shape
The dreadnought is one of the most traditional acoustic guitar shapes. Taylor's version has been refined to blend its trademark robust low-end tone with a snappy midrange and brilliant treble notes, producing a pleasing balance of power and articulation. If you're a flatpicker or strummer who likes to dig in on lead or rhythm, the dreadnought will serve you well.

Tonewoods
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Sitka spruce is the most prevalent guitar top wood of the modern era. It blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions which translates into broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. Layered rosewood back and sides offer robust rosewood tone while creating a sturdy and complementary platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability.

Electronics
Taylor's ES2 is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. Because the pickup doesn't sit under the saddle, the bottom of the saddle comes in full contact with the bridge, allowing all the nuance of the guitar's tone to come through clearly whether playing acoustically or plugged-in. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before while playing plugged-in.

Together with Taylor’s custom-designed "professional audio"-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar. The Taylor Expression System 2 operates through a proprietary 9-volt battery compartment and easy-to-use volume, bass and treble controls.

Great sound, great rhythm

Was debating on the 114e grand auditorium, 214ce cutaway and this 210e dreadnaught. All 3 have their benefits, really enjoyed playing the 114e grand auditorium but it did not have the deep lows I was looking for, but man the 114e is a beauty to play. Gonna have to breakdown and pick one up in the future! Lol, Anyways back to the dreadnaught, I picked up the 210e plus and played it side by side, found the 210e plus was not as full sounding tho it's $300 more, I'm thinking it has to do with the finish. It was heavier and I'm did not put out the sound this 210e did. This guitar is fun to play, more for strumming which I will mainly be using it for worship. Glad I was able to afford it and did not break the bank! The action is spot on, not so demanding on the finger tips 😉, sounds incredible plugged in or unplugged. Dreadnaught is a larger box a little less comfortable to play then the other boxes but the sound is incredible!

The worst guitar of all time

So I'll admit that I erred in buying a guitar I had never played, but with Taylor's reputation I thought it was a safe move. I could not have been more wrong. This has got to be the worst guitar of all time: 1) The materials are cheaper than cheap (it feels like a plastic guitar); 2) The electronics stopped working after 6 months; 3) The tuning pegs started falling apart on about the same schedule as the loss of the electronics; 4) Regardless of the strings used, the tone of this monstrosity is akin to a toy guitar. I've been playing 30+ years and this guitar is the biggest scam I have ever seen: slap the Taylor name on some pretend guitar and put it out there -- people'll buy it! Well I did, but never again. Get a Martin.

This guitar is light weight and comfortable to hold. The neck is smooth and cups nicely, the frets are filed perfectly, this guitar delivers sustain and rich tone. Absolutely no buzzing with a pick or not. I did not have it set up and it played perfectly right off the wall. It came with a sturdy bag and a Taylor booklet. I love this guitar.

really playable guitar i would highly recommend to anybody easy and fun to play great sound and tone not to much overtone high freq you usually expect from a rosewood guitar sitka top has bassy great mahogany like sound with little sparkle from the rosewood at the end very fun guitar one of the best ive played for under 1000 id say more playable than the 300 to 400 series sounds great can actually hear myself play with this guitar excellent choice for any player havent seen to many guitars out right now that would be a better buy than this for the price the only downside is it didnt have gloss on the top but if it did it probably wouldnt ring out as loud and wouldnt be able to play quit as good to get a full range in vocals

Great feel, great sound. Played several in the acoustics room but kept coming back to the 210ce. The feel was the thing. Can't explain it. You know you know. Chuck at Greensboro GC was great. Will definitely be going back.

It's very well balanced for either. Dreadnoughts are typically for strumming based off the volume you get out of it, but really either one would work.
