Taylor Guitars | World-Class Taylor Craftsmanship In Every Guitar

Description
The Taylor 214ce acoustic-electric guitar provides players with pro-level quality in a compact Grand Auditorium body style. With a torrefied sitka spruce top and layered walnut back and sides, it produces a focused and punchy tone with definition in the midrange frequencies. The cutaway body gives you easy access to solo beyond the 14th fret. Taylor's ES2 pickup system faithfully captures the 214ce's acoustic voice and dynamics when amplified through a PA or acoustic amplifier. The guitar's neck profile facilitates bar chords and melodic lines across the fingerboard. And the 214ce comes with a durable Taylor gig bag, offering protection as you transport this fine instrument between performances and recording sessions.
Shape Your Sound With Torrefied Spruce and Walnut
The torrefied Sitka spruce top adds depth and richness to the 214ce's tone. You'll hear more complexity in the overtones as well as enhanced projection and sustain between each note. The walnut back and sides provide tonal balance across the frequency spectrum, with a woody voice that has sparkly top-end and focused lows. Together this spruce and walnut pairing generates excellent midrange punch and definition. The overall sound is versatile enough for accompanying vocals, blending in a full mix or taking the spotlight in a solo break.
Solo Past the 14th Fret With Cutaway Access
The comfortable cutaway on the 214ce's Grand Auditorium body provides unfettered access to the higher register, letting you play solos that extend past the 14th fret with ease. The ample lower bout yields enough volume and bass response to come through clearly in an ensemble situation. And the waist contours enable playing in a relaxed position whether seated or standing. The GA profile facilitates various techniques from fingerstyle to aggressive strumming.
Hear Your True Acoustic Tone Amplified
Taylor's advanced ES2 pickup system is made to capture the 214ce's acoustic sound with accuracy and nuance. Its three behind-the-saddle pickup sensors are positioned to convey the guitar's entire tonal range. The professional-grade preamp provides exceptional responsiveness as you engage the active bass and treble controls. The ES2 pickup brings out the best in your playing, from the delicate intricacies of fingerpicking to full-on flatpicking rhythm parts. On stage or in studio, you can trust this system to faithfully amplify the 214ce.
Play Bar Chords and Melodic Lines With Ease
Taylor crafts the 214ce neck to feel smooth, inviting and comfortable. The standard profile facilitates playing chords across multiple fret positions. And the fingerboard allows you to cleanly fret individual notes when playing lead lines. The neck construction provides enduring stability and reliability. So you can count on its premium feel and playability for years to come.

I'm just starting out and this guitar is wonderful. Even when I'm not playing very good it still sounds incredible and has given me a lot of confidence to continue practicing and getting better. I really love the sound because it has a lot of depth to it and the chords ring out really well.

What is the difference between the 214ce and 210ce? There's a small price difference so I'm wondering what makes the 214 over the 210 a little more in price.
The Taylor 214ce features koa tonewood, while the Taylor 210ce features walnut tonewood.submitteda year ago

The description for this Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium, says it has a Torrefied Sitka spruce top, but it doesn't say it's a "solid" spruce top? Other Taylor's descriptions specifically says a "solid spruce top", but for some reason this one doesn't. Maybe it's just an oversight in the printing, as it looks to be a solid spruce top. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? Thanks!
It is a "Solid torrefied spruce top", according to Taylor.
