Taylor Guitars | World-Class Taylor Craftsmanship In Every Guitar

Description
The 214e Deluxe Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a professional-grade instrument incorporating innovative design and premium components for flawless plugged-in performance and rich, balanced acoustic tone. At the heart of the 214e Deluxe is a solid Sitka spruce top paired with layered rosewood back and sides, a combination that produces crisp highs, focused midrange and robust low end. Onboard ES2 electronics faithfully amplify the guitar's acoustic voice and provide flexible tone shaping for any live or studio application. With deluxe appointments like white binding, abalone inlays and a high-gloss finish, the 214e Deluxe is as stunning to look at as it is to play.
Built-in ES2 Electronics for Stunning Amplified Tone
Taylor's ES2 pickup system gives the 214e Deluxe a natural, full-range amplified tone and lets you tailor your sound with simple, intuitive controls. Volume, bass and treble knobs provide tone shaping, while a body sensor blends the direct acoustic sound of the guitar with the pickup for added depth and dimension. The result is an amplified tone indistinguishable from the 214e Deluxe's acoustic voice.
Premium Tonewoods for Balanced, Articulate Tone
The 214e Deluxe's solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides produce a blend of shimmering highs, warm lows and focused midrange that suits any playing style. Sitka spruce is a preferred top wood for its strength, clarity and dynamic range. Rosewood backs and sides add richness, depth and tonal complexity. Together, these tonewoods give the 214e Deluxe a voice that rings out with bell-like trebles, a throaty midrange growl and tightly controlled bass.
Grand Auditorium Body Style for Ergonomic Comfort
Taylor's popular Grand Auditorium body style provides an ideal balance of size, shape and tone. Its width and depth produce volume comparable to a dreadnought, while a tapered waist results in a sleeker look and livelier response. Rounded shoulders provide playing comfort. Whether strumming, fingerpicking or flatpicking, the Grand Auditorium is a versatile, accommodating shape that makes playing effortless.
Premium Features and Deluxe Hardshell Case
With stylish white binding, abalone Small Diamond fretboard inlays and a high-gloss finish, the 214e Deluxe looks as good as it sounds. It includes a deluxe hardshell case for safe transport and storage. Experience the 214e Deluxe Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar at your local Guitar Center today.

Great guitar both in tone and visually
Fell in love with this after seeing it in Guitar Center. The shape and contour fits my 5'11" 175 lbs perfectly. It sounded fantastic the first time I played it and just sounded great to me. It's also a beautiful instrument. I currently have a Seagull Entourage which will now be my travel guitar. I bought/returned two < $1k Martins along with a Zager that never sounded better than my Seagull. This 214e was so easy to play with low action and zero fret buzz I just had to get it. I'm mainly a rhythm guy with low lead or finger picking desires. This is a great guitar for me as I have been playing for ~2 years and post novice, mid-experienced.

Looks great
It definitely feels well built and looks beautiful. I'm not a fan of the sound though. It seems to lack low end. The notes are crisp and clear, but the highs and midrange are overpowering.

I play daily. It sounds great. I enjoy playing and it is easy to pick up and sound good. Taylor did a good job with this guitar and I'm glad I own it. It holds it tune and I hardly ever need to adjust it. The finish on the guitar is impeccable and it's great to just look at. I'm one lucky guy.
This guitar is fantastic! Sounds, plays, looks great!

I'm a Martin guy and played this against a OME cherry. I was impressed with the sound, playability of the Taylor for less $$ than the Martin. Rich, full sound, good action, nice neck. Still love my Martin D-16, but this guitar is right up there too! Give it a try & see for yourself.
I would highly recommend this guitar.

One day, I walked into Guitar Center with the thoughts of searching for a guitar. It was time for me to upgrade to the next guitar. Eventually, this guitar caught my attention so I decided to play it. At first, I thought "Wow, its a maybe." I was looking for the aesthetic look of an electric/acoustic guitar. I also wanted to make sure that the guitar harmonized and felt just right while I sang and played altogether. It all went well. I played other guitars to see if I could find the next best thing. Everytime I would pick up a different guitar, I kept coming back to this one. Eventually, the manager heard me singing with the guitar I was playing. This encouraged me to keep singing and playing. They helped me with making my final decision. I ended up choosing to purchase this guitar because it harmonized and was just right with my voice. Love this guitar. It plays like butter!

I was trying to look up my new Taylor guitar on their website, but I can't seem to find my 214e-SB DLX on their website. If I type in 214e-SB DLX IT will bring up a 214e DLX but not in SB and it says that it's not a regular production model to check local dealers for availability. What does that mean? And when you look up 214e DLX it has legacy in parentheses beside it, what does that mean?
The SB indicates a sunburst finish.submitted5 years ago

The Taylor 214DLX comes with Elixir light strings. Can medium strings be used on this guitar... or is the tension on Medium strings too high for this guitar. I like medium strings , but prefer the 1 11/16 nut.
Yes, you can use medium strings. The only time you would run into issues is if you went with the super max heavy gauge, and even then it's not a tension issue, it's more getting them to fit in the nut/bridge pin.submitted6 years ago
