Taylor Guitars is proud to introduce the 317e Grand Pacific, a revolutionary acoustic-electric that shatters expectations. Master luthier Andy Powers has crafted an all-solid-wood guitar with a round-shoulder dreadnought body and groundbreaking V-Class bracing that unlocks unprecedented volume, sustain and pitch accuracy. The 317e Grand Pacific's sapele back and sides pair with a Sitka spruce top to produce a bold, complex voice that flatters any genre. When plugged in, Taylor's ES2 electronics faithfully amplify the 317e Grand Pacific's acoustic character with intuitive controls for dialing in your perfect tone.

V-Class Bracing Unleashes the 317e Grand Pacific's Potential

Taylor's patented V-Class bracing is a sonic revolution that provides the 317e Grand Pacific's top with ideal stiffness and flexibility. Notes ring loud and clear, blooming with rich overtones and the entire fretboard is brought into tune for chords that shimmer with harmonic cohesion. Strum boldly without fear of choking out the treble and fingerpick to unlock the 317e Grand Pacific's responsive, piano-like clarity.

A New Body Shape Born to Project

The round-shoulder dreadnought body of the 317e Grand Pacific generates power and depth tailored for any stage or studio. Pushing air with high-fidelity resonance, this innovative shape produces consistent tone that cuts through a mix while supporting vocals or other instruments with its robust low end.

All-Solid-Wood Construction and Lifetime Quality

As with all Taylor guitars, the 317e Grand Pacific is built to last a lifetime and provide consistently inspiring tone. Hand-selected solid sapele and Sitka spruce are crafted with Taylor's signature quality and attention to detail, yielding an instrument that plays like a dream right out of the case and only improves with age.

Plug in and Inspire with ES2 Electronics

Taylor's ES2 pickup system captures the 317e Grand Pacific's acoustic voice with stunning realism for an unparalleled plugged-in experience. Sculpt your tone to perfection with independent bass and treble controls, blend the sound of the soundhole pickup and saddle transducer to your taste and switch between the two pickups for crisp attack or ambient depth.

Had 2 loose washers rattling around inside plus a couple small imperfections in the finish. For what I paid I was disapointed.

loud, clear resonant! Can't think of a single con. Lows are really punchy and full while maintaining that bright mid to high range taylor is know for. If you can catch this guitar on sale and your debating this and a high end laminate guitar just go for this one you will not regret it!!

I've been playing acoustic for almost 50 years. My first real guitar was a 1975 Martin D12-20 (bought new; basically a 12-string D-18), but had an accident with it after playing it in 2003. Replaced it with a Taylor 855ce. Since then, I've accumulated five other Taylors, from a 110e to a k26ce (and two GS Minis). The Grand Pacific has a different sound than any of them. Yes, It's bright, but the bass is also there. It's a strummer, but I'm still hesitant to really dig in with it; for a dread, though, it does fingerstyle pretty well. Clear tones, sustain is forever. It doesn't match the tone of my K26, but it's SO much better than any Montana Gibson I played leading up to this purchase. Build quality, like most Taylors, is flawless. Keeper.

I am a living room player by trade. I own several Taylor guitars and I am usually drawn to KOA or Mahogany woods in a guitar. I truly appreciate the mid range punch that you get from those guitars. Right out of the box, the 317e was amazing. I tuned it once, and upon the first strum of the guitar I could tell something was different. Every note of the guitar shined though like I have never heard before. I played in every style I am capable of and this guitar kept up with them all. Two hours of non stop playing went by and I was stuck with perma-smile. Not to mention the smell of a new guitar, and this one has a sweet smell to say the least! For the price of this guitar and what I have paid for other Taylor's I would say this is the best overall Taylor I have ever strummed. If you are on the fence, pull the trigger. I also took advantage of the buy one get one for $99 and paired this guitar with a GS Mini Mahogany. Needless to say I am a happy camper.
