Nice 12 String
submitted6 days ago

fromSan Diego, California
After going through a few different makes and models of 12 string guitars throughout 30ish years of my music endeavors, for now, I think I found the right one that suits me best. And that's a bit of a relief, considering my many years in search of a decent great sounding and playing 12 string guitar. That being said, I've only had it now for about 24 hours. But so far, I'm really enjoying this one. Played it for a few hours already unplugged and plugged in and it Sounds and plays great! And as every guitar player knows a 12 string is a little harder to play on the hands than a six string, because you gotta apply more pressure on the neck, due to all them, strings, lol! that being said, it might be the easiest one I've ever played and I've always loved the shimmer and complex lush sound of a good 12 string guitar. So I felt I had to take another chance and get this one. I've always loved Taylor Guitars and I've owned five of them between the mid 90s and now. I previously owned the made in Tecate Mexico, TAYLOR 264CE K DLX 12 string Grand auditorium/GA and it was a stunningly, beautiful guitar and played pretty well, but I knew if I would upgrade to a USA 300 - 800 series 12 string, the sound and playability would be better, and so I went to my local guitar center and test drove about three different models of the Taylor 12 string guitars, from low, mid, to high priced models, I decided on this one, for me, it seemed best bang for the buck, like that it is made in here in my hometown, and I've always favored the mahogany bodies, and this Sapele looks and sounds so much like mahogany to my eyes and ears, as well as having the beautiful Sitka spruce top which I've also favored on acoustic guitars, I think this one's a winner for my preferences. So traded in the 264CE and purchased this beautiful Taylor 354CE GA 12 string. And yet the differences are subtle, they are enough for the discerning player to appreciate the slight variations which makes for a better playing experience, and so far, it's doing just that, it's a joy to play, even if it's maybe only 10% or 20% better, it makes my job easier and more satisfying in playing the guitar, and as a performing artist, I can tell that it will bring me more joy to play the instrument and inspire me to learn some more new songs. So thank you, TAYLOR and Guitar center! 😊
