The Taylor 814ce V-Class Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar combines groundbreaking design with premium appointments to deliver an unforgettable playing experience. As one of the most acclaimed guitars in the Taylor lineup, the 814ce exemplifies master craftsmanship, enveloping sound with unique texture and gorgeous aesthetics. The Taylor 814ce V-Class Grand Auditorium is a functional work of art, made to be played, admired and enjoyed by musicians who crave the design expertise and attention to detail found in an instrument as luxurious as this.

Taylor 814ce Tonewoods

Balanced, Versatile Sound From Premium Tonewoods

The 814ce features premium solid Sitka spruce on top with Indian rosewood back and sides. This pairing produces a balanced, versatile tone perfect for fingerstyle playing or flat-picked strumming. The Sitka spruce offers strength and crispness, while the rosewood provides complexity and sustain. Together, they create a voice that encompasses sparkling highs, deep lows and a slightly scooped midrange. As these woods age, their sound only gets better and better—this is an heirloom instrument built to be treasured for generations.

Taylor 814ce V-Class Bracing

Revolutionary V-Class Bracing

At the heart of the Taylor 814ce is their groundbreaking V-Class bracing. This innovative bracing pattern boosts volume, sustain and intonation for notes that ring out with remarkable clarity and richness. The entire fretboard is brought into finely intonated focus, improving the guitar's musicality, so you'll spend more time playing inspiring chords and melodies, and less time wrestling with pitch. Whether unplugged or amplified, guitarists will appreciate the 814ce's dynamic range, harmonic complexity and rock-solid tuning stability thanks to Taylor V-Class bracing.

Taylor 814ce Grand Auditorium Body

Easy-Playing Grand Auditorium Body

Taylor is renowned for its Grand Auditorium body shape that gives the 814ce a bold, well-balanced voice, and unparalleled ergonomics suited for a multitude of genres and playing styles. Its comfortable contours enhance playability, while the gently sloped Venetian cutaway offers easy access to upper frets, allowing acoustic guitarists to travel up the fretboard in unrestricted ways typically only found on electrics. The premium Taylor 814ce V-Class acoustic-electric even features a rosewood armrest on its body to help you find the most natural playing position, for an effortless experience every time you pick it up.

Taylor 814ce Electronics

Natural Amplification With ES2 Electronics

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics accurately reproduce the 814ce's acoustic tone when plugged in, utilizing the expertly designed pickup and preamp to convey the guitar's dynamics and responsiveness through any amp or PA system. Volume, treble and bass controls allow you to shape your amplified tone, and blending the high- and low-end knobs can reveal unique midrange voicings. The ES2 electronics ensure your amplified sound remains as natural and organic as the 814ce's pure acoustic timbre.

With its blend of innovation and tradition, the Taylor 814ce V-Class Grand Auditorium is a premium acoustic-electric that delivers exceptional tone and playability. Guitarists will appreciate its musicality, comfort and versatility across styles and settings, as well as its masterly crafted build and undeniable beauty. If you're looking to sit down with one of these outstanding guitars, stop by your local Guitar Center to give the Taylor 814ce V-Class Grand Auditorium a proper test jam—you just might bring one home.

Best guitar I've owned

I play fingerstyle guitar and wanted to treat myself to Taylor's flagship 814ce. Wow, this guitar just sings, with a long sustain and bright sound. When it arrived, some of the tuners were a bit loose, so I tightened them and put new Elixir 12's on. It stays in tune great. As for playing, I found barre chords to be much easier to play, with no buzzing. The 814ce is just beautiful with the gloss on the back and sides. The nut is made of graphite, so no need to use messy graphite powder there.

Disappointed

Was highly motivated to buy one, but after testing it with other high-end guitars at one of the Guitar Center in Houston Metro, I was disappointed。 The sound was lackluster when compared with Martin HD-28 and Gibson J45 both were cheaper but were noticeably having better sounds。 Martin's other more expensive models also sounded better。 Gibson SJ-200 was significantly better but about $1.8K more expensive I tested with Guitar Center staffs. I really like the Martin HD-28 but unfortunately, it doesn't have a built in pickup. The Gibson J-45 they have on-display was shockingly good, but I needed something with lower volume of base so that I don't cause feedback with Base or electric guitars on stage. I mostly play Gibson LP on stage at church. This will be replacing my main Acoustic.

You should have stock in Duracell as you will go through 9 volt batteries like water!! There isn't a on/off for the electronics. If it's plugged in it's draining the battery. On this basis I give it a one star review on that lack of foresight. Otherwise it is a great acoustic guitar.

Booming sound and sustain for days. Love the cutaway on the top side of the soundboard. Grand auditorium size with dreadnaught sound (nearly). Makes other guitars sound like toys. When you spend up for this instrument, you get quality in spades.

Easiest playing acoustic I've ever played. Can play for hours as it plays so smoothly. I recently bought a L series Yamaha trasaccoustic, and don't play it much as the Taylor is that much better.
