collapse expand iconDescription

The Taylor Academy 10e is an acoustic-electric guitar bringing Taylor's reputation for quality and playability to aspiring musicians everywhere. The Academy 10e features a resonant solid Sitka spruce top and layered Sapele back and sides, which provide a balanced tone suitable for a variety of musical genres. The slightly smaller dreadnought body and slim neck were designed with comfort in mind, ideal for beginners and smaller hands. The genuine ebony fingerboard and bridge, along with Taylor's ES-B pickup system, deliver a premium playing experience at an affordable price. The Academy 10e is an acoustic electric guitar that sounds as good as it looks.

A Dreadnought Body Shape That's Easy to Play

The Academy 10e features a classic dreadnought body shape that produces a bold, balanced tone. Taylor sized down the body for improved comfort, resulting in an instrument that's rewarding to strum and easy to play. The smaller nut width and shorter 24.875" scale length facilitate chord changes and solos for players of all skill levels.

Premium Features at an Accessible Price

Although affordably priced, the Academy 10e includes premium features found on Taylor's high end models. The solid Sitka spruce top and ebony fingerboard provide articulate sound and smooth playability. Taylor's ES-B pickup system delivers a natural amplified tone, complete with an onboard chromatic tuner for on the go tuning. These premium features, combined with Taylor's reputation for quality, make the Academy 10e an incredible value.

Ideal for Beginners and Smaller Hands

With comfort and playability in mind, Taylor designed the Academy 10e for beginner and intermediate players. The scaled down body, slim neck and shorter scale length reduce hand strain, ideal for smaller hands or those still developing finger strength and dexterity. The Academy 10e sounds as good as it feels, keeping new players engaged and motivated to continue improving their craft.

Built to Last a Lifetime

Like all Taylor guitars, the Academy 10e is built to exacting standards by skilled craftsmen. Premium tonewoods and high quality components ensure an instrument that not only sounds amazing now but will continue to mature over decades of playing. With proper care and maintenance, the Academy 10e is an acoustic electric guitar that will inspire for a lifetime.

I never wanted a Taylor. The commercial popular great brand guitar. not until I test played this at the store. WOW. looks so basic. love that part. Play like the expensive ones. fits my body great. Love the wedge cutout on the Body. Looks plain. I like that. I reminded me of my favorite..Martin guitar. Its a 3500 guitar at the 7-- price - Mine was a return I bought for 450. Guitar center online. Best buy ever. The sound resinates out of it because the is not bacj bracing inside the body. The neck plays clean and lots of space for my fingers. HEART.

Bought this guitar to learn on after being recommended by Albert at Guitar Center in Bloomington, MN. So far I love it. Shorter neck, low action and sounds fantastic.

Let's be honest, this guitar looks very basic and for those who are more into the aesthetic of a guitar, this might not be it. But guess what, this guitar is the smoothest, best sounding and easy to play guitar for less than $1k. For that price, you'll get a solid top with bright tone and great sustain. It was not made to be pretty, it was made to encourage beginners to learn how to play acoustic guitar. Overall it was a great purchase and will buy more taylor guitars in near future.
