Description
The Taylor Guitars Big Baby acoustic guitar boasts a signature small-scale dreadnought shape, solid tonewood construction and stunning playability. The Big Baby was designed with portability and musical growth in mind. This acoustic guitar allows you to take Taylor's renowned craftsmanship and acoustic sound on your life's journey.
Full Tone and Projection in a Perfectly Sized Package
The Big Baby's 15/16-size dreadnought body may be petite but inside you'll find the ingredients for a powerful acoustic voice. A solid Sitka spruce top paired with layered walnut back and sides help produce a balanced tone with crisp highs, warm lows and a robust midrange. Despite its smaller size, the Big Baby projects with ease and fills the room with its intimate yet bold sound.
A Neck Built for Comfort and Playability
The hard rock maple neck with ebony fretboard provides a familiar feel for most acoustic players. With its slim yet sturdy profile and smooth satin finish, navigating the Big Baby's 20 frets is effortless. A lighter touch and smaller scale length places less tension on the strings, making barre chords and intricate patterns a joy to play. The Big Baby's supreme playability allows you to focus on developing essential techniques and skills.
Take Taylor Tone on the Road
Taylor includes a padded gig bag with the Big Baby, offering optimal protection when transporting your guitar to lessons, jams or shows. The gig bag's durable yet lightweight shell and interior padding keep your guitar safe from weather and impacts, while padded handles and straps make carrying comfortable for most players. With the Big Baby and gig bag in tow, you can enjoy premium Taylor tone wherever life's adventures take you.

I originally got this guitar for myself about 10 years ago and it's one of my favorites. So I decided to buy my girlfriend's daughter this guitar as an early birthday present and she loves it. It's a full scale guitar but slightly undersized which is perfect for someone of her age.

Move Over Martin

I bought a Martin as my first "real guitar" and regretted it after I played this Taylor. I didn't like the Fishman electronics so I was kind of disappointed right outta the gate. Then this Taylor made up for it...the action is light years ahead of Martin. LOVE this guitar.
It's Great! Buy it!

I bought this almost 2 years ago from today. This was my very first guitar that I have ever bought. I have had no teachers or guitar lessons. I used this to learn to play by watching YouTube covers of songs and following their fingers motions and learning chords by looking it up. I was able to get this to sound the same as songs artists used in the video and which helped me learn a lot faster! I tried to learn with a cheaper Yamaha guitar at first but then I returned that guitar because I could not get used to the sound comparison of it when comparing to videos. - Or extra buzzing it made from me learning and it being cheap! This is an amazing beginners guitar and I will definitely look to be buying a higher quality Taylor guitar in the future! If you're looking for a good first guitar you can't go wrong with this! This guitar is 100% worth the price!
The Best $500.00 Acoustic going today !!!!

I had bought one of these back in 2017 when I made the switch to Acoustic. I don't know why but, I got rid of it so I could make the move tpo the Martin X-Series only because I had always wanted a Martin. To make a long story short, the Martin didn't cut it for me, so last week I made the move back to Taylor and the Big Baby. These newer ones are so beautiful but it's a shame, that Taylor has discontinued them. The Brown headstock along with the Solid Spruce top and Walnut back and sides, have really IMO, improved this model. Once set up properly, it stays in tune and just sounds awesome ! I would say that it is the best Acoustic going today which is under the 500 dollar range. Plus seeing that I'm on a low budget, this was a no-brainer. It's a keeper and I am getting a lot of joy playing it.
Wonderful, Quality Guitar!

I purchased the Big Baby Taylor over a year ago and I am happy every time I play it. I was looking for a guitar that had a vibrant, present tone and that was super playable. Additionally I wanted a smaller body size that would be less stressful on my shoulders without it being as small as a Baby Taylor or GS Mini. This guitar answered every requirement and then some. These days I primarily use it for fingerstyle Celtic music (esp. in DADGAD) and it absolutely shines for that (though it is amazing for any style of music I've used it for). I still can't believe how much sound springs forth from an instrument this small. I can't imagine there's another guitar out there for the price that can do what the Big Baby Taylor does, I haven't played one yet. But to go further, this isn't just a great guitar for the money, it's simply a great guitar. It's just very basic looking, though beautiful in its simplicity, but certainly not a flashy guitar with a lot of bling (or any bling for that matter).

Does Taylor Swift still play this guitar
Not this one. She actually has her own signature model that she has in both a blueish-green color or one that has a disco-ball type deal instead of a finish.submitted4 years ago

is there a hard case available to purchase for the big baby?
Taylor makes a gig bag for it, as for hardshell case, you want something like the SKB-300submitted4 years ago

How do you safely ship/deliver a Taylor Big Baby in a gig bag (rather than the typical hard shell case)?
the bag itself is padded really well. on top of that, the guitar and bag are wrapped in bubble wrap, and double boxed for extra protection.
