I love this guitar

I've play guitar for over 50 years and I love the sound of the Koa body V-build, how light the guitar is and how it sounds amplified. The action is great and arm rest is comfortable. This is a high quality guitar and best acoustic I've had.

I was looking for a Taylor and when I saw the all koa, builder edition I was sold! Then I played it and it plays and sounds amazing! I am such a fan. I play for fun around the house, and this is absolutely perfect. I played the 912ce builders and the 914ce for a few weeks, both beautiful in their own right, however the K24ce builders was the perfect blend of both those. The K24ce builders has all of the best combined - looks, feel and sound.

I played my 2011 Taylor 614ce so much it needs refretting. Having just moved to Portland, I haven't found a luthier I can trust it with yet. So my plan was to buy another one and use it as a back-up. I love all the things Taylors are renowned for: brighter sound than a Martin or Gibson, playability, quality. But I play other guitars for my songs that are roots-ier, especially the open tuning ones. My hope was the K24ce could bring all the Taylor qualities with a mellower tone that Koa can produce, thereby reducing the number of guitars I had to lug to gigs and that clutter up my practice space. Then I saw the Builder's addition for a few hundred dollars more, the main difference being the entire body was made of Koa. I've never spent so much money for a guitar before. When I could buy two guitars for the price I paid for this one, I lost some sleep waiting for it to arrive. I had almost talked myself out of keeping it before I even got the thing! Based on some comments online stating it was "blah", "sterile", "nothing special", and some not so flattering YouTube videos (it sounded too bright to me). Moreover, I wasn't going to waste a lot of money on a guitar I didn't play just because it was considered a collector's item. I have to say, now that I've have mine and played it for a couple of hours, my concerns were unfounded. It's everything I had hope for. THE most important part being that it inspires me when I play it. I spend hours jamming in hopes of finding hooks that I can work into songs. Having the enhanced playability of the Builder's Edition combined with the mellower tone of the Koa checks that box for me in a big way. In fact, I found myself mirroring its softer tones when I sang and felt more natural as well. The seemingly too bright tone that I witnessed on some demos online was actually accurate. If your picking attack is aggressive the bright tones do come out, which is highly desirable but not the only thing I was looking for.

I've had my eye on this beautiful all koa guitar since Taylor introduced it. In addition to all the perks like rounded edges, armrest, satin finish, that come with builders edition, the clarity of each note, the rich low end sounds, the ease of playing all the way up the neck - I could go on and on about what sets it apart from other instruments I've played. It is a dream come true that makes you want to play all day!
