Fun and super portable! Solid crunchy bass. The electronics themselves are sturdy, but the LCD screen is super fragile, of course, and being hand-held it's likely to drop. I recommend the extended warranty on this one. Also I found that other than the markings, all the PO cases work on all the other PO units (except for a little hole for the mic on some of them). I found that the Sub case was cheapest, so I bought one for my K.O.
I want to buy the tonic or the KO next.

Fun little device with great technology. Only wish there was a way to recover deleted default patterns and overlap sounds.

Love the instrument. There is a learning curve because they pack a lot of features into a small unit. Many of the buttons do double duty. So far I have learned how to synchronize this with the Volca beats. I hope this think lasts it's very addicting.

First look at the Pocket Operator PO-14 would have you believe it to be some sort of maker-like device, escaped from the lab before it was finished. However, once you can get yourself beyond that initial impression - you can find its true purpose. This little device can be a creative brainstorming tool, a bass synth that fits in your pocket and can go anywhere you do. A built-in speaker allows you to even perform in very small settings with others, though it benefits from a 3.5mm TRS input and output - for daisy-chaining Pocket Operators together as well as to output final sound to a speaker or to a recording interface. The unit features 16 different sounds that can be arranged into a pattern with the onboard sequencer, and those 16 patterns can be chained together to create a composition. Deceptively simple, its the ultimate cure for someone who just gets lost in the big spread of buttons and knobs on a larger syth. The lack of a case can be the only reason I took a point away - but for many, that will be a selling point in that you can seek out your own stylish casing option (especially if you are NOT sold on the silicon casing made for it by Teenager Engineering) or even just leaving it bare PCB for that unique look. One thing is for certain - no one will mistake the Pocket Operator PO-14 for any other instrument in your collection.

I got it as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it. I just wish it came with a case or was more protected. It's very small and fragile. The case was an additional $15+. After spending about $60, I didn't want to spend anymore.
