The PO-12 is the first in the series that I acquired. It has some preset beats which will help you get familiar with its sounds and combinations. I'd recommend making your own beats as presets. In addition to beats it has a few tonal sounds, which the pitch can be adjusted (via the knobs). The tones can only be pitched by ear, so I'd recommend the PO-20 Arcade if you are wanting specific chords and chordal sequences. Be sure to add the extended warranty. My first PO was broken due to a drop, and I was covered. This is a fun device for musicians at any age or level that is interested in electronic music.
Incredibly deep potential considering cost
