The Drum Channel

collapse expand iconDescription

Bryan "Brain" Mantia is known for his drumming for Primus, Guns n' Roses, and Godflesh; and with Tom Waits, Buckethead, and others. Brain has made the worst, or possibly the best, drum instructional DVD ever. His follow-up to the cult favorite, Brain Lessons: Shredding Repis On The Gnar Gnar Rad focuses on the 2 & 4. Brain's simplified breakdown of his drumming philosophy is demonstrated as he performs with friends, Buckethead and DJ Disc. The feature-packed DVD also includes various skits, educational segments, and a host of special features. Brain's newest offering is laugh-out-loud funny and inspiring for drummers of all ages and skill levels.

Any fan of brain's work would like this dvd.this dvd focuses a lot of Brian just jamming sick grooves rather than really teaching them (like in his last dvd). it's almost like a live performance dvd, but i learned to play a lot of new stuff after watching it. Buckethead is it and him and Brain do a bunch of jams in the studio. Brain goes to a school and talks to the kids about drumming and jams out. and Brain provides drums for a couple break dancers, so you can imagine that the beats and grooves are pretty stellar.
