Tone King

collapse expand iconDescription

The Tone King Ironman II Mini Power Attenuator is a revolutionary solution for getting cranked tube amp tones at any volume. This 30-watt, 8-ohm reactive load attenuator lets you unleash the full potential of your tube amp without sacrificing your hearing. Thanks to Tone King's proprietary reactive load network, the Ironman II Mini preserves your amp's natural tone, dynamics, and touch sensitivity.

Keep Your Tone and Hearing Intact

With its 6-step attenuation and 3-position presence switch, the Ironman II Mini lets you retain pristine tube amp tone at the volumes you need. Whether you're gigging on a quiet stage or recording late at night, you can finally get those coveted power tube overdrives and speaker breakups without worrying about noise complaints.

Feel Like You're Plugged Straight In

The Ironman II Mini uses reactive load technology to mimic the way your tube amp interacts with a speaker cabinet. This complex circuitry recreates your amp's natural compression, sag, and bloom, allowing it to respond to your playing in the same dynamic way as when plugged in directly. The result is an experience so transparent you'll forget there's even an attenuator in the signal chain.

Ready for Any Application

With its pedalboard-friendly format, the Ironman II Mini puts essential controls right at your feet. Use the footswitchable 3dB/6dB boost to highlight solos or balance levels between different guitars. The line-level DI output routes your fully attenuated signal straight to recording interfaces, making the Ironman II Mini a secret weapon for studio use. Wherever and however you play, the Ironman II Mini is ready to unleash your amp's full potential.

Compact but Capable

Despite its diminutive size, the Ironman II Mini can handle up to 30 watts of tube power with ease. Its fixed 8-ohm impedance is compatible with most tube guitar amps. Weighing at 3 pounds, this portable solution won't weigh you down on the road. For infinite control over your tube tone in a solution that fits in the palm of your hand, look no further than the Tone King Ironman II Mini Power Attenuator.

I am using it with a Mark V 25 Head + 1x12 slant cab. I was very much on the fence about buying an attenuator but after doing some research, i decided to go for the TK Ironman ii mini because: - The Mark V 25 does NOT have a single master, but a per channel one, which needs to be set between 10-11 for the amp to shine (otherwise it sounds bleak and thin). By using this thing, I have a single master, the amp is in "set and forget mode" - Sits on top of the head. It is light and relatively portable. - It is PASSIVE (no power adapter needed) - It is very granular. I personally do not use the "solo" function because it sits on the amp, but that gives another layer of versatility. Only downside is the small rubber feet which I replace for bigger ones to sit properly on the head. That's not a problem, just an observation in case you are wondering. Great bang for the buck.

Man. I got a Marshall SV20H that was just too loud for any normal house use. I've gone through like four attenuators and every single one muffled the sound to no end. This one PERFECTLY attenuates the amp without compromising any noticeable tone whatsoever, and the 18 different attenuation levels is insane. Get this NOW!

I spent the better part of the last year searching for a tube amp that would give me clean tone on the edge of breakup at a reasonable volume. I wasn't having the success I was hoping for, so I tried the TK Ironman II. I am so happy I gave it a shot. I'm using it with a Fender DRRI and old Pro Junior. It really has given me the tone I was looking for AND it maintains the feel of playing a loud tube guitar amp.

I have a 1969 Drip Edge Fender Silverface Super Reverb (4 X 10" Speakers). Will this unit work with this amp? Also a recent Marshall DSL 40C (1 X 12" Speaker) I plan on inserting it between the speaker and amp jack. Is this unit powerful enough?

It's not specked as such. The Tone King Ironman II Mini Power Attenuator is meant to handle 30 watts. Your Fender is 40.

Would this work for my 85 watt 1966 Fender Dual Showman amp? Or is there another version that would work for my amp? The Dual Showman is too loud to play at normal volumes at home for practicing! Ask my wife!!!

Your 85 watt Dual Showman is loud. I can't believe it. Beautiful amp. This Ironman is not big enough, it's won't take above 30 watts. I'm going to guess your amp is putting out about 100. We have many attenuators with a very wide price range. Please give us a call to better help you out – 855-770-3373
