Traveler Guitar

collapse expand iconDescription

Inspired by the very first Traveler Guitar ever made, the Pro-Series Mod-X has new features that make it the most versatile hybrid electric and acoustic travel guitar we’ve ever made. The proprietary In-Body Tuning System uses standard tuning machines relocated into the body, eliminating the need for a headstock. As a result, you’ll have the same full-scale playing experience you’re used to on an instrument that’s 28 percent shorter and 58 percent lighter than a typical full size electric.

The Mod-X is equipped with a dual-rail humbucker with coil-split switch, allowing you to get high-gain humbucker or smooth single-coil tones with the same pickup. And if you want more versatility, the Mod-X has an under-saddle piezo pickup for a more acoustic sound. A pickup selector and independent volume controls allow you to switch between humbucker and piezo, or create a custom blend of both.

We modded out the guitar with mismatched knobs, a machine-turned aluminum pickup ring, a matte black finish, and chrome hardware. Its 24 ¾-inch scale neck-through maple body sounds great through acoustic and electric amplifiers.

Includes removable lap rest and upper-arm support for comfort during play and portability while traveling. The Traveler Guitar Pro-Series Mod-X is the perfect solution for traveling players unwilling to compromise on scale length, and looking for a compact and comfortable guitar. Fits easily in airline overhead compartments in the included Gig Bag.

I keep mine out all time next to my chair and it's the only guitar I own that doesn't go back in a case. I feel fortunate that I got a good one from the factory .Mine stays in tune very well and I have had no problems yet ( over a year ) with any part of the guitar . My input Jack has held up well as have the volume pots and coil tap toggle . I especially like the piezo and piezo blend feature and probably would not have gravitated towards this guitar without it . The travel bag is bare minimum with no padding and the upper arm rest is a must as I play this sitting down exclusively- I like it a lot

I loved the concept: super light and ultra quiet without amplification. The design was a plus too, with the upper arm rest for more comfortable playing. However, the input is placed in the curve of one of the jointed sections of the guitar and is not easily accessible. After a week of solid play, the input began to develop a buzz. I brought it back to the store, where they helped me with an exchange. I went with Traveler again, but the Speedster variant. That one didn't work straight out of the box. Didn't try for the 3rd time lucky bet. Special thanks to Matt at the Garden City location, for being super helpful and helping me find a great replacement from another company.
