I Should Have Known Better

After decades of buying instruments I should know that you get what you pay for, but I thought coming from a legit music store this thing would be a legit instrument. I was wrong, sad to say. After trying to get any kind of sound from it I dug a little deeper for information and learned all the reasons why this thing is not good. I even tried bending it so that the tongue was parallel to the frame and the gap was appropriate and still nothing. So I found an online store that only sells jaw harps and shelled out the kind of money I would spend on a decent harmonica and the difference is night and day. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more money, and get a real jaw harp.
I will probably buy severl more

Novelty item, but I will try to take this review seriously. 31-years guitar. 1 week on the jaws harp. I am not clear whether I just haven't figured it out, or whether you have to wear in the spring a little before it does its thing. It would be fun in the right group or to get young children interested in music.

I'm new with jawharps so I bought the Morchang (indian version) expecting to get the best right away, since I read this type has a louder and quality sound. Anyway, because I'd like to play with someelse I bought the Snoopy one, expecting low quality because of the price and... GUESS WHAT!? I was completely surprise that the sound is much louder than the indian one. So, I guess it about luck when buying online. I give 5 stars!
Not Bad but needs a little tweaking..

I ordered it offline and had it shipped to the store. I've never owned of played a jaw harp so this was my first(cheapest place to find one) and upon opening it I tried to play it but it wouldn't work then I noticed the pieces were touching, but this instrument works off vibrations so if its touching it wont work, so I had to open up the gap a little by spreading out the bigger pieces of metal then bending the thin part to ceter it between the gaps, I just left somewhere between 1/32-1/16 of an inch gap, just enough to see light through the sides and know it can freely vibrate, once doing so it started working. so it just needed a little tweaking and its a fun item to play around with
