Turbosound

collapse expand iconDescription

The Turbosound iQ12 powered speaker delivers the clarity and muscle you need for an array of sound-reinforcement applications. With a robust 2,500W peak bi-amped Klark Teknik Class-D power amplifier, the iQ12 pumps out serious volume through its 12" LF driver and 1" HF compression driver. You get accurate monitoring and mix translation thanks to Turbosound's advanced DSP, which provides EQ, limiting and feedback control. The Klark Teknik spatial contour control even lets you optimize the speaker's frequency response for the room. With the iQ12's XLR, 1/4" and USB connections, plus an angled pole mount socket, you have the connectivity and placement flexibility to create the ideal sound system setup.

Achieve Room-filling Volume With 2,500W of Bi-amped Class-D Power

The iQ12 is equipped with a Klark Teknik designed bi-amped Class-D power amplifier that delivers a potent 2,500W of peak output. The dedicated LF and HF amps ensure you get optimized transient response and frequency extension from the 12" woofer and 1" compression driver. Turn the volume up and fill the room with clean, precise audio that easily keeps pace with live drums, vocals and anything else you throw its way. The Class-D design also results in an efficient and lightweight amp module.

Hear Every Nuance With Advanced DSP Tuning

Turbosound includes sophisticated Klark Teknik DSP to give you total control over the iQ12's sound. Built-in speaker modeling accurately recreates the response of classic speaker systems. Powerful EQ and transparent limiting provide smooth, consistent audio at any volume level. The DSP's dynamic EQ optimizes low-volume playback, so you hear all the subtle details. And the feedback eliminator quickly zeros in on problem frequencies. The spatial contour control is invaluable—it tunes the iQ12's sound for the acoustics of pole mount, floor, wall or ceiling placement.

Flexible Connectivity for Seamless Integration

On the rear panel, the iQ12 provides combo XLR and 1/4" inputs with gain controls and signal present LEDs to easily connect mics, instruments and line-level sources. You also get balanced XLR outputs for sending signal to additional powered speakers or recording gear. The onboard USB port lets you control settings via a PC app. With the dual-angle pole socket, you can position the iQ12 vertically or angled down towards the audience. Wherever you set it up, the iQ12 delivers the connectivity and adaptability needed for clear, professional sound.

Have yet to try them outdoors but these things absolutely Rock inside to the point where I don't want to turn them up to full blast. I'm looking forward to getting an IQ18b to match with he is. I really don't have any complaints with these. Clean and powerful. Need to test outside at 100 DB+ to really see what they can do

I don't typically write reviews and certainly don't do it right after I purchase an item. I have had a pair of these speakers for almost a year now. The sound quality is excellent, even compared to a QSC. I have used these for a "live band" event as well as a DJ event. Paired with the IQ18 subs they are hard to beat. There is a lot of "technology" wrapped up in this speaker and my guess is that most people wont use it. Since I am using the X32 Rack, I really do like the fact that I can run CAT5/6 cables to the mains, subs and monitors. Cat 5/6 cables are cheaper lighter and easier to find in an emergency. I also like the fact that there are two pole mount holes on the bottom. One, that will hold the speaker straight up, and another that will angle it forward slightly.

I was intrigued by the way this speaker integrates with the Behringer digital mixers, something I might buy in the future. I LOVE Feedback destroying built into speakers. The EQ you can dial in with your Mac or PC is killer- 2 fully parametric eq bands, plus two shelving eq's, and so easy to use. Was sorry to see that go when I returned the speaker. The speaker modeling seemed silly and unnecessary, none of the models made the IQ12 sound great. The highly variable Xover is a great thing to have. And, any of these changes made can be saved to a User Preset, so you dial things in at home and then have them instantly available. Altogether it felt like features meant for a more expensive system were added to this one, and for the most part they really added to the speaker. I recently bought a QSC K10. As a keyboard player, I was floored by how open and transparent, even somewhat 3D it sounded. All of my Nord Stage sounds sounded right, like their real instruments. It has since become my reference / standard for sound editing and judging other speakers. The IQ12 fell short in comparison. I tried the speaker model that appealed to me the most on the IQ12, and then further eq'd it to taste. I also did this with the default IQ12 sound. Neither of them delivered the open and transparent, full of depth sound that I knew could be achieved. The price is very attractive, but with the extra weight (5 pounds more than most 12" 2 ways I know of), and the uninspiring sound quality, I saw no reason to hang onto it.
