Two Notes AUDIO ENGINEERING Torpedo Captor X Reactive Load, Attenuator, IR Loader White 8 Ohm

Description
The Two Notes Torpedo Captor X is a compact reactive load box, tube amp attenuator, miked cab simulator, IR loader and stereo expander for home, live and studio use. Guitarists and bassists craving the joy of playing a tube amp in a perfectly tuned environment with an exceptional choice of cabinets and microphones can experience this with the Torpedo Captor X every time they play, regardless of location or volume restrictions.
Attenuate Your Amp Without Tone Loss
The Torpedo Captor X allows you to attenuate your tube amp to play at lower volumes without compromising tone. Play your amp at its ideal volume and use the attenuator to control the level for any environment, from home practice to clubs and stadiums. You can even enjoy a cranked 100-watt tube amp in complete silence using the immersive headphone output.
Shape Your Tone With a Myriad of Virtual Cabinets
Pair the Torpedo Captor X with your phone, tablet, computer or MIDI controller using the Torpedo Remote app to access 32 carefully curated virtual cabinets, 8 microphones for each cabinet, and 8 room simulations. Save up to 128 custom presets to instantly recall your favorite tones. No other compact reactive load box provides this level of control over the virtual miking chain. With the ability to place two virtual mics on each cabinet, you may never mic a real cabinet again.
Expand Into Stereo and Enhance Your Tone
The Torpedo Captor X features a stereo expander with an automatic double tracker to create a wider, fuller tone from your mono amp signal. It also includes a stereo reverb with adjustable room size for subtle ambiance to cavernous soundscapes. The Enhancer provides thickness, brilliance, and body controls for dynamically tailoring your tone. Use the Voicing knob to quickly adapt the overall sound to suit different venues or recordings.
Flexible Connectivity for Any Application
The Torpedo Captor X includes USB, MIDI, and wireless connectivity in addition to analog I/O. It offers two XLR DI outputs with three routing options: stereo, dual mono to send separate signals to FOH and monitors, or dry/wet to capture both the cab sim and your raw amp tone. Process the dry signal with the included Two Notes Wall of Sound plugin. The rugged, road-ready Torpedo Captor X is the perfect solution for getting the most from your tube amp wherever you play.

I'm primarily a live player, but I do record on the side for fun. Up until now, I've been happy using modelers, but not any more. The Captor X allows me to use my own favorite tube amps and captures them better than I can given the mics I own. The versatility is more than I'll every use, but its so easy to make a few mic adjustments on the cabs available to get amazing sounds. The double tracker is insane! It makes me want to go back and re-track everything I've ever recorded. Now... if this COVID deal would end, and I can get back on stage, I'll be giving it the live test. I'm so stoked!

Can this also be used as an audio interface instead of something like a Solid State Logic SSL 2+ USB Audio Interface? Or does this need to be connected to something else for recording?
No. This wants to be connected to a speaker. This needs a little bit of discussion. Please give us a call 855 770 3373submitted3 years ago

I have a Fender Vibrolux Reverb which says on back of amp requires 4 ohms and there are two 10" 8ohm speakers in combo. Can the 8ohm Torpedo be used even though VLux requires 4ohms total?
No, it can't.
