Ultimate Support Product Outlines - AX-48 Pro Column Keyboard Stands

Description
Ultimate Support's APEX AX-48 Pro Plus keyboard stand bundle provides keyboard players a comprehensive yet streamlined way to support and power their live performances. Combining the venerable AX-48 Pro column-style stand, AX-48 Pro Mic Boom, and AX-48 Pro Tote, the APEX AX-48 Pro Plus offers a complete keyboard stand solution for gigging musicians and professionals alike.
Versatile and Adjustable Tribar Arms
With two sets of Tribar arms in 13" and 18" sizes, the AX-48 Pro Plus can accommodate keyboards, synthesizers and workstations of all shapes and sizes. The patented Tribar design provides stable and even weight distribution, while the height-adjustable arms allow players to position their instruments at the perfect level.
Sleek and Sturdy Column Design
The AX-48 Pro's modern column design brings style to the classic keyboard stand, with a slender yet robust steel column that can support up to 250 lb. The column breaks down quickly for transport and storage, housing the three sturdy legs inside. Non-skid end caps on each leg prevent slipping, while built-in cable routing keeps cords organized during performances.
Convenient Extras for The Singing Keyboardist
For keyboard players who also sing, the included AX-48 Pro Mic Boom provides an adjustable and sturdy mount for any standard mic boom arm. The boom attaches easily to the top of the column, keeping the mic at the perfect level and distance. The AX-48 Pro Tote bag carries the entire keyboard stand bundle, with padded compartments for the stand parts, mic boom and accessories.

The Perfect Two-Keyboard Stand
I've been working for years playing two keyboards, plus singing simultaneously. Finally Ultimate came up with the perfect keyboard stand for it: - It's strong enough to support two heavy keyboards with no problem, in my case Yamaha Motif XS6 & Yamaha CP4 Stage 88 Wooden keys. - The two sizes of Tri-bar Arms are definitively helpful when using keyboards of different sizes: the longer ones hold the wide Motif perfectly, while the shorter ones hold the narrow CP4 with no problem, letting you play freely without any discomfort for the Tri-bar Arms being too long or too shorter. - Additional to it, Ultimate came with the great idea of padding the Tri-bar Arms, which ensures 2 things: the keyboards won't slide, & won't get scratched. Just great! - With this stand model Ultimate fixed the uncomfortable-when-carrying-it triangular edges of its former stand models, adding the very helpful bag or tote, which solved permanently the issue of carrying it safely & easily. - The Mic Boom is one of the best features of this stand: It solved effectively the issue of having to carry your mic stand around, & trying to find the less uncomfortable way to place it, so you would be able to sing & play simultaneously in a comfortable way. Definitively 5 stars, no doubt! NOTE: About stability when using it with two heavy keyboards, you don't need to add a sandbag to it; just carefully push the stand all the way down to the floor (before you mount the keyboards on it, of course) & it'll stay as firm as you need it.

HORRIBLE DESIGN, VERY FLAWED
This is made so very poorly, the stand I had leaned heavily to one side, yet I nearly tore it apart and couldn't figure out what was the exact cause (bad tolerances I suspect). Second, and most MAJOR problem is the lower leg cam assembly. It is METAL TO METAL inside there, without any sort of bearings or grease even, and after very mild use (setup and take down twice a week for performance) over barely a year, it ground itself to death and would no longer rotate. Third issue, the tolerances on the arms that split apart into a V is so ridiculously bad (seen it on two stands), not only does it SCRAPE the paint off the base, which is nice to look at, it was metal to metal on the second stand that came from Ultimate Support as a replacement, needing gorilla strength to open/close the arms for transport. It is a shame because functionally, it is excellent for sitting and standing, where in the Apex is standing ONLY at best, and still has limitations (foot pedal is right under you, so you stand on it...why!?). I would never recommend any of Ultimate Supports products to anyone after using three different stands and two different designs. They just don't have the quality or ergonomics.

I didn't know if my Manos ipad holder would work with the Apex but it attaches to the boom arm no problem.

Nice solid product. Replacing an older model that was just old. Only issue is that the attached mike boom transmits noise through the stand to the stand and into the mike.. so not sure the value here. I guess if you are only backup might work but I sing lead through a very sensitive Sennheiser , and you can here a thud every time I play a note...
Love it!!!

I bought this stand less than a year ago. I've been using it for practice and gigs, nothing extreme. First thing that started happening is the adjustable clip on the front thats used for floor stabalization kept getting stuck in the down position and the only way to loosen it was with plyers. This supposed to be adjustable by hand. But no biggie as this was more of an annoyance than anything. Then the carry handle broke, this looks like its made of cheap plastic. It literally happened pulling the stand out of the carry case. Then one of the legs got stuck inside the cylinder, and there really is no way to move it out without unscrewing the bottom. However theres no way to get it back together without allen wrenches and another two people keeping the legs and bottom plate stable. This happened to me on my last gig, not a good way to start a show. Bottom line is I wont trust this brand again. For the money I expect much stronger build quality and better design.
