Good Stand, but can be tricky to open.
I have the previous version of this stand, but the leg locking mechanism was wearing out after years of heavy use. I decided to buy the new version since I like the no-nonsense hanging approach the stand offers. The only downside I found is that the ballpoint pen style locking mechanism can be finicky. The legs have to be in just right place for it to work. Hopefully it gets better as I break it in, because it's a great stand otherwise.

Warranty issue
I purchased 2 of these stands at the same time. Last summer, the neck adjuster mechanism broke when I went to close it to put it away. It broke on one side of the latch pivot/pin.No longer able to keep the neck at the desired height. I had to use duct tape to hold it in place. I have a dreadnought guitar and an electric solid-body guitar of high-dollar quality, making me very nervous to use the stand. I have lost total faith in using it. The price of an instrument shouldn't matter at all if the stand can not perform as needed. So when I contacted Ultimate to send me a warranty exchange, it was denied because I did not show proof of purchase. So, on my 2nd attempt to ask Ultimate to warranty the broken Lock latch assy, they proceeded to tell me no because the part is no longer made. Henceforth this is why I sent pictures of the stand in the first place. I am not ready to spend another red cent on a company's product that breaks and jeopardizes the safety of my hard-earned money spent on equipment. I am flabbergasted at this point.

This guitar stand is excellent. I have three of them in my home studio space. They pack up quickly into a small size for storage and transport. I definitely recommend this product. #sweepstakes

Plastics more fragile than glass

Great stand for home & studio only. DO NOT bring this to a gig if there's any risk of it getting dropped or knocked over because the plastics WILL break. Bumped mine off my amp (a less than 2 foot drop), and utterly destroyed the base & locking mechanism to the point where one of the legs completely fell off. Again, great for home use, but absolutely NOT built for the stresses of gigging & touring.

It just broke one day. I moved it from one spot to another and the legs no longer lock.

Will this stand hold a Fender Telecaster since a Telecaster's head is so small and narrow?
Yes, the Ultimate Support GS-100+ guitar stand will hold a Fender Telecaster just fine—even with the Tele’s smaller and narrower headstock.
