    I have purchased about a dozen of these stands and they are dedicated to holding my guitars in my studio. They are seldom moved and I never gig with these (as I stopped gigging years ago.). I now have had 2 of these where the plastic joints have become brittle and the stands have just collapsed from just the weight of the guitar. When the first one broke, I thought it might have just been a just a fluke, but I just had another one break and found that guitar laying on the floor when I went into my studio. It appears that the plastic used for the leg connections is brittle or molded at the incorrect parameters as I found chunks and pieces had broken off and were laying under my guitars both times. The locking mechanism is also very jenky and it doesn't take much force to undo it which will make the stand collapse easily as well. Now I am concerned as to when the other 10 stands will break and hope they don't damage any more of my guitars. I'm so disappointed and will start looking at other solutions to display my collection. I purchased these stands as the company Ultimate had a great reputation with their innovative keyboard stands and I originally liked the looks of this model and the headstock "latching" feature seemed clever. What happened Ultimate? Did your good Engineers quit?
