The sound is great and plug ins amazing - when you can get it to work. As noted by a previous reviewer - UAD changed the software delivery to a new platform called UA Connect. Nothing works anymore. Software will not install. Try to uninstall and then install - no luck. UAD has lots of articles on how to configure your system or to uninstall your antivirus program (what?) for things to work. Nothing does. Oh - then get a ticket number for support - three days later - nothing. The forums are full of people like me trying to get things to work. This company seems to have lost its understanding of positive customer experience. Feels like the recording products piece of UAD is being run by computer people who have no understanding of the musician. I invested close to $2K in hardware and software and was very happy until now!! Save your money - I am no longer using their products.

The thunderbolt version used to work on mac & win. They released an update that killed it on win then dropped the price on the thunderbolt version. NOW this the win alternative comes out at a higher price? Just get a scarlet and save yourself trouble. Their customerservice doesnt exist

Huge Upgrade

I decided to upgrade from the Volt 276 and the difference is huge. The Volt 276 is great, but the extra $$$ for this is definitely not wasted, and the quality leap is immediately noticeable. Do yourself a favor and pick up a high-speed USB-C 3.0 cable capable of data transfer speeds of 10Gbps (You will need this for it to work!!! -and the importance of the data transfer speed it isn't obvious from all of the posts I read online from other people that had cable issues). I decided to use a USB-C 4.0 cable because I got tired of going through my cable bin to find a USB-C that Apollo would recognize. I'm sure you could use a USB A-to-C cable of the same speeds, but I didn't try that. The USB-C 4.0 will work perfectly (as well as the USB-C 3.0 10Gbps (Did not try a 5Gbps, but that may work too).
