UA-S610

This is the second UA S610 that I've purchased for my home studio (for stereo applications). I can't say enough great things about this unit. Just keep this in mind, a quality mic preamp can make a mediocre microphone sound good and can make a great mic sound phenomenal. I wish I would have figured this out before I bought so many different mics! Like lots of folks, I have an Audiobox interface. The Audiobox is a fine product, but the preamps in the Audiobox are, of course, not of the greatest quality. Adding a 610, gives your tacks (especially vocals) a certain "something" that you just can't get otherwise. It's like hot sauce, just put in on everything!
Put your mixes in a whole new category

I've added this to my signal chain and now I put EVERYTHING through it. Nothing I have doesn't sound better through this pre. Vocals and ac. guitars with my 20 year old AT4033 mic sound better than ever, so does my guitar and bass. I use software for amps and record using a ProjectMix IO and have never created better sounding mixes with so little effort. Vocals sound almost fully dialed in before I even add anything else. That helps vocallists record using zero latency monitoring without my software freaking them out with that slight delay but still getting a FULL sound. Treble is warm, glassy, mids are creamy and the bass, too, is warm and punchy. If the circuit in this thing was good enough for Van Halen I then who am I to think I can find better? Start your studio with this, then build around it. Your recordings will thank you for it!!!!
Very Nice

This pre amp is a great value. I tried some other one like the grace and focusrite, but this one came out ahead. Sound great with a bass guitar as well as vocals.

I'd been researching preamps for months before picking up the Solo-610. I wanted something with a vintage vibe to it that would allow me to step up my recordings and this preamp has delivered in a BIG way! Its amazing to me how versatile it is and just how many options are at hand with only a few knobs and switches. If you're on a budget and are in need of a good preamp there is nothing better in the price range. The 610 gets an incredibly warm tone that adds color to any lifeless digital recording platform and can even make a cheap mic sound good. I can't wait to see how it handles a good Neumann or AKG. The purchase of this pre will immediately thrust you into the world of pro sound recording. I would recommend this product to any studio, project or professional. Do yourself and your music a favor and buy it!
