    Great for speaker cable application. Standard instrument cable plugs were too small for the cable I was repairing. Needed this because some meathead stepped on the speaker cable connected to a stage monitor. Broke the tip of the plug in the speaker jack which required monitor disassembly to get out. Finally got around to replacing the plug on the cable and these did the trick. They are well made and sturdy. It took a while to get enough heat on the joint to get the solder to flow, but I am a total amateur at this, so I probably was not using an optimal technique. My only complaint is that the rear of the plug did not create a snug fit around the cable. That is, the plug could accommodate a much larger diameter cable. It would be nice was some kind of rubber strain relief included to step down the hole at the back of the plug to smaller cable sizes.
