I felt like the Chad Smith funkblaster would be a stick that I bought and would never use so I put off buying it for awhile. When I bought it and used it I was a bit shocked at the quality of this stick

a lot of people don't know that vater sound tests their sticks, and well they just don't buy them... Well let me tell you, they are missing out. These sticks are a little lighter than promark 5bs but a little heavier than vic firth 5bs.The sticks are also great for jamming out or even practicing on the practice pad. The sticks have a great feel and are really good for playing any type of music. If you get these sticks you won't be disappointed... Not to mention they are fairly priced. Lastly, they have a really good balance on the hihat and are good on heavy hits on the snare. THEY ARE JUST GREAT STICKS!!!

These sticks are great for heavy rock and loud funk. The Vater 5B grip is nice and fat in my hand, and the oversized acorn tips give a very fat sound on drums- this is one of the only sticks I've played that has as much effect on the drum sound as the cymbal. The only time I DON'T like this stick is doing complex ride patterns, because it has more wash than attack- you can easily get your fancy ride pattern covered up if it's a dark and/or washy ride. But, this is also cool for the Keith Moon style "wall of cymbal noise", because it emphasizes the wash so much. All in all, good sticks for heavy rock, not recommended for jazz though.
Funkatize me cap'n.

These sticks are great; I usually use Vic Firth Danny Carey sticks but these are just as great if not greater. The Carey sticks are heavier while these have a lighter but sturdier feel. The sound difference between sticks was also unmatched. If you wan more of a ping from your bells these are the sticks for you.

These sticks are really solid and deliver a nice full sound out of the snare and toms. They're a great weight and the tips are perfect. I bought these sticks thinking they would be a lot bigger, but they are actually rather short. These sticks also don't sound great on the ride and hi-hat cymbals (but they deliver a big explosive sound from the chrashes. These sticks would be perfect if they were a little longer and delivered a better sound from the cymbals.

wow! these sticks are probably the best pair of sticks ive owned! they are nice and thick and very sturdy. im a pretty heavy hitter and could never find a pair of sticks that wouldnt break after a 2 hour jam session. and finally i found these and ive been goin strong with my first pair for about 3 months now. sound quality and balance is unbelievable with these bad boys. hands down best sticks out there. chad smiths funkblasters by vater are the only sitcks for a power drummer
