Vic Firth

collapse expand iconDescription

The Vic Firth Greg Zuber Nothung concert snare drum stick features the weight of laminated birch paired with a very large shaft diameter. As the Principal Percussionist of the MET Orchestra, Zuber needs a stick that can cover an array of musical situations, so the oversized acorn tip, longer taper and thick shaft were designed to work together for maximum versatility for general orchestral playing. The extra weight allows the player ultimate control across the full dynamic range.

I have used the GZ Excalibur for years (still have a couple pair from when he was with Cooperman) and thought they were the best stick. Decided to try the Northung and wish I could tell myself about them 25 years ago. Perfect balance, great response for concert playing.
