VOX Custom Series AC10C1 Overview

Description
The Vox AC10C1 10W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp brings the iconic Vox tone to practice spaces and small venues everywhere. The AC10C1 provides 10 watts of all-tube power through a Celestion V-type speaker, achieving a classic chimey clean and crunchy overdrive reminiscent of 1960s British rock. With just a master volume, gain and 2-band EQ, dialing in your perfect sound is simple. Add in the lush digital reverb, and this little amp has everything needed for inspiring practice sessions, recording, and intimate gigs.
All-Tube Circuitry Provides Authentic Vox Tone
At the heart of the AC10C1's tone is its all-tube design, using a pair of EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes to produce a sound that defined generations. From jangly cleans to pushed overdrives, the AC10C1 delivers the unmistakable sound of a Vox amp. Despite its small size, this amp can get surprisingly loud when the master volume is maxed, allowing for use in small venues. However, its lower wattage also means you can achieve cranked tube tone at home-friendly levels.
Simple Controls Make Dialing In Your Sound A Breeze
With just a master volume, gain, bass and treble controls, the AC10C1 keeps things straightforward. Adjust the gain to go from pristine cleans to a classic Vox crunch. Use the bass and treble EQ to tweak the tone to your liking. And use the master volume to set the overall level for the venue or situation. Between its simple controls and lower wattage, the AC10C1 makes achieving your perfect Vox tone easier than ever before.
Built-In Reverb Adds Dimension To Your Tone
No Vox amp is complete without lush reverb, and the AC10C1 includes a high-quality digital reverb to add space and dimension to your sound. From subtle ambiance to cavernous dwells, the reverb on the AC10C1 helps capture the spring-reverb-soaked tones of yesteryear. Use the reverb to enhance cleans or add texture to overdriven tones—either way, it's an integral part of the classic Vox experience.
A Portable Powerhouse Perfect For Any Situation
Despite being Vox's smallest all-tube amp, the AC10C1 is highly versatile. Use it for practice, recording or intimate gigs. Take it to a jam, lesson, or band rehearsal. This amp is light enough to toss in your car and loud enough for any small venue. For those seeking authentic all-tube British tone in a conveniently sized package, the Vox AC10C1 is the perfect fit.

Don't Think, Just Buy!
I purchased this amp a few days ago because i wanted another small watt amp for the smaller places i play and i got to say this amp is awesome! It has fantastic tone and a whole lotta punch for only a 10 inch speaker! If your looking at this review wondering how this amp sounds, well it sounds very similar to an AC30. Nice highs, powerful lows, pleasant mids! I find myself having to turn down the lows a lot just because this amp can produce so much bass! Overall just a great amp! I own a Blues Jr. and this amp in my opinion is the better amp to own! It takes pedals really nicely and can be driven really well! Also this amp is really well built. Just like any other Vox amp, the craftsmanship is meant to last! I had to write this review because i wanted to let people know just how good this amp is! I own several really nice amps including an AC30, Blues Jr, and Hot Rod Deluxe and for the price of $450 there is no reason to pay more when you can get a better product for less! In my opinion this is the best low watt amp under 15 watts you can get today! And I'm so happy Vox finally made one! So do yourself a favor and try one out and trust me you will be bringing it home!

Please Vox fix this issue
This is the second Vox AC10 I've ordered this month. The sound is beautiful but while playing on low E and A some notes producing buzzing sound almost like something is loose inside the tube (lightbulb sounding buzz) took first one back to the store played different guitars same thing buzzing is still there.Sales Associates were also confused and confirmed that there is a buzzing there, so it's not just me not the cable and not the guitar. Played on different settings with or without Rev. Mose bass less bass. The only time You will not hear buzzing when overdrive all the way up. I'm Playing the blues with overdrive 30%to 50% .I Ordered the second one, Same thing. Very disappointed cause I really like this amp,I'm going back to the store and will be exchanging for AC4

If you love the Vox tone and you want to get it relatively affordably and at a volume level good for home use, the Vox AC10c1 has it (and it would definitely be loud enough for small gigs). I also have an AC4tv that I really like, but the AC10 is just... better. Mine works beautifully, and the digital reverb sounds great, even if it isn't real spring reverb. For some reason the input jack is very, very tight! I'm a bit concerned it will break when I try to ram a cable into it.
Great sound!

Excellent amp, I love the way the lower strings sound on P90s, the highs can be piercing, put bass and treble knobs at 10-11 o'clock and got a nice mid range sound , not scooped, and has plenty of that famous Vox chime. It's way too loud for a bedroom when cranked! All in all an excellent 10 watter!
This amp is perfect for home, jams, and small venues.

I got this amp after finding the Fender Pro Jr. didn't really suit my needs. The tone is excellent and provides motivating tones on lower volumes and really does rip when you crank it up. I'd say this probably would work in a cafe type venue but in a bar with a live drummer you may need to mic this amp... maybe... which is saying a lot for 10" speaker with 10 watts behind it. I really do like the bass, treble and reverb. I get most of the tone I want without plugging in the pedal board. Matter of fact when I'm practicing at home I don't bother with any pedals because the sounds is great plugged straight in. I also got a good price on this from guitar center as an open box. No regrets! Anyone looking for a Fender Pro Jr?

I'll make this quick... this is the amp to have, perfectly balance at every level, tube saturation will leave a smile on your face and everyone else. Try this, play SRV's Lenny or Riviera Paradise and you will know!!! I have two Strats and a '98 Epi Dot with P90's. Love this amp!

I wanted a tube amp for the bedroom and knew the VOX AC10 would be a great option. It sounds great. The gain on the amp works great. Really giving the sound a real growl. And the reverb is better than most on an amp. I'm more than pleased.

I'm giving this AC10 serious consideration to support learning jazz. I don't see many jazz guitarists using one, but would like to know how well it produces quality jazz tones (I'm using an Epiphone Riviera semi hollow)
It'll be good.submitted6 years ago
