VOX

collapse expand iconDescription

The Pathfinder 10 pumps 10 tone-filled watts out into a solid 6.5" speaker. Use the Clean/Overdrive switch to instantly go from a clean, chime-y tone to the creamy warm VOX signature distortion. Set your gain higher, and switch from a crunchy blues to a high-rain roar. Gain and Volume controls let you get just the right feel; Treble and Bass EQ knobs serve up a range of tones. The line out/headphone jack provides a filtered signal ideal for direct recording or late-night practice.

Skeptic no more

I admit I was skeptical that this rather affordable solid state amp could live up to the rave reviews it gets. I am impressed with its sound quality. I got it so that I could play in the morning through headphones to keep from waking up my wife. It works great for that for sure but I most impressed with sound from the 6.5" speaker. This thing sounds great to me for the stock speaker. It doesn't sound as loud as my Fender Champion 5watt tube amp but it is my go to amp now as I like the Clean sound of it as well as hooking it up to my TC Electronics Overdrive pedal for some controlled distortion. The Overdrive button is okay but doesn't sound that good to my ears. Nothing like a VOX AC 30 would sound. It is not a VOX AC 30 so don't expect that from it just because of the name but for the $ this is a must for your practice amp needs.

Not my favorite vox

I love the the clean setting on this amp. But the overdrive left a bit to be desired. Tremendous amount of buzzing sound with overdrive. No matter what guitar I used I couldn't turn gain above 1 or 2 without getting that noise or the amp sounding muddled.

I have several vintage amps, but I have to say this little thing knocked me out. It's small but sounds powerful good enough to record directly out into your DAW. Through the speaker even when it's turned down this thing can bark. Also has great clean tones.

  • Perfect amp for my needs.

I use the Vox Pathfinder 10 amp for practice only. It replaced my 30 watt Rogue. The Rogue was too noisy, a lot if hiss and hum. The Vox is totally silent until you hit the stings. Not as powerful as the Rogue but adequate with much higher quality sound. No hiss or hum. I have it set at about 3/4 volume and 1/2 gain clean channel for most of my practice sessions.

This Vox practice amp is the best. Easy, quick functionality and it has great features. I use it in my music room for quick set up and practice. I have played through Vox amps for over 40 Years, and own 2 Super Beatles, An AC-100 Jennings setup, and a Westminster Bass amp. This Pathfinder is just the ticket I have been looking for. Use Vox, it is the Best...

Unfortunately, no. The Line/Headphone output is line level. It can't power a speaker.

The instrument cable would need to be purchased separately.
