Immutable, the 2022 release from Swedish metal giants Meshuggah finds them churning out 13 more heavy songs to get lost in their syncopated mire. Drummer Tomas Haake and bassist Dick Lövgren lay down a variety of sludgy, polymetered rhythms complemented by the sometimes mellow, but mostly melodic and chaotic axe kicking licks of Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, while singer Jens Kidman tells his dark tales with a familiar death growl. To say this is a complex album is an understatement. And what better way to listen to it than orange/red transparent two-vinyl set. Put it on your turntable and get your table turned.
