Warm Audio ] Beck Black - "Don't Call Me Darlin'" WA-251 Tube Condenser Microphone

Description
Designed to capture the warm, vintage acoustics of the classic 251, Warm Audio offers the WA-251 large-diaphragm condenser microphone, with much greater accessibility. With universal application for studio, home or live use, the versatility of this mic lends itself to any situation without comprising on sound quality. Paying homage to its predecessor, the sonic character of this mic gives a balanced range with the richness you’re looking for, at a value that cannot be beaten.
Custom Reproduction Gives Pristine Sound
The custom, all-brass WA-12-b-60V edge-terminated capsule is a reproduction of the vintage CK12-style capsule. With a dual-backplate, it is a crucial part of reproducing a frequency response and polar pattern similar to that of the original 251, to give you that iconic sound you’re looking for. Warm Audio also decided to use a Slovak Republic JJ 12AY7 vacuum tube for a frequency response that produces vintage warmth and an even balance. Having WIMA, Solen French and polystyrene capacitors throughout, the WA-251 offers reliable and balanced sound capture.Vintage Acoustics With Accessible Features
After extensive research, Warm Audio decide to use a Gotham Audio 5 meter GAC-7 cable. Learning about how 7-pin cables can reduce phase shift and increase top-end presence, Gotham Audio seemed the logical choice to partner with for their high-end, Swiss-produced cabling to get the best out of this condenser mic. There are three polar patterns to work with: cardioid, omni and figure-8, and all provide a balanced frequency response for ultimate versatility. Able to handle bright top end and rich lows, the WA-251 is a compelling option for anyone looking for that classic 251 sound.

I use this mic to track vocals. Pretty amazing sound off the bat . Needs more control in high end but it's not a terrible mic at all would buy again for sure . It's better than my WA87 r2 . Also cost more but it's worth it . Just need sum analog gear now :) .

I traded my 68 Bassman for this, which the person got the WA251 at Guitar Center who wanted the Bassman. I wanted a smooth mic with a perfect amount of air which describes the mic exactly. I always use a recording channel style preamp with this and ARTs and Joe Meeks with optical comp are my favorites though my Presonus gets the job done. I don't like to EQ while tracking and this really doesn't need EQ. The mic has the right amount of air
Love this mic!

The WA-251 is a large diaphragm, tube condenser microphone with three polar patterns: Cardioid, Omnidirectional, and figure of eight, that you can control from an external power supply. This microphone is perfect for vocals. It has the quality of the vintage 251s, but it also has it's own character. This mic has a beautiful balance that allows your tracks to sound clean, pristine, vivid and natural. It is simply magical because it works great in vocals but it also works great in any instrument. I have used it in flute, violin, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar so far, and the results are amazing. This microphone is great for any type of studio: From large to home studios, and with the proper placement, you can capture the most natural sound. You will not regret having this mic in your collection. The quality is amazing, and the pricing is unbeatable.
