Washburn

collapse expand iconDescription

Part of their Americana Series, Washburn's B6-A banjo is an open-back 6-string aimed at guitar players who don’t have the time or inclination to learn a new instrument, yet still crave that good ol' banjo twang. Tuned the same as guitar, it features a mahogany rim, mahogany neck with 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and smooth-action, die-cast tuners for tuning stability. The distressed Remo head looks cool and has a warmer, fuller tone. It supports an ebony tipped bridge for best transfer of tone. The B6-A comes equipped with D’Addario strings.

A case is sold separately.

Washburn has been building banjos since the late-1800s. Their early instruments were considered some of the finest of their day. This heritage is not lost in the instruments they handcraft today, like this B6 banjo. Pros and amateurs alike have enjoyed these Washburn instruments for their outstanding tone, build and value.

If you play guitar and always wanted to play the banjo, this instrument is for you. You will have to check the intonation when you first get it but the luthier in the store will help you out. All in all it's a fun instrument with no learning curve if you already play the guitar.
