The Whirlwind MINI-12 is an ideal drop snake for cleaning up cable runs in the studio or on stage. Use it for a keyboard rig, a complex drum kit setup, or any place you need to gather up mic lines. The MINI-12 features clearly labeled side-exit connectors and fit in many places where a traditional box would be too bulky. (The Mini-12 is also available with a Whirlwind W1 multipin disconnect.) This particular model is a 12-channel, 50ft snake with a box on one side and a fan on the other.

    Old method of connecting our seven church frontline vocalists mics to our powered mixer to feed the wedge monitors with a line to the front-of-house PA was a custom made 45-foot-long bundle of standard mic cables with elastic cable ties to secure the 'snake'. Although this system sounded good the problem of tangling occurred every time during setup when we needed to connect to the powered mixer feeding the monitors with a lineout to the church's front-of-house PA. A friend gave me some PA gear that he was no longer using including an older 100-foot-long, 12 input - 3 output Whirlwind stage snake, which was too long for our church use. I was very glad to learn that a much shorter 25-foot-long high quality USA-made mic cable snake was available for what I consider a fair price for an item that takes a lot of hand labor to manufacture.
