They need to make a more serious version of this great Idea

It is fun to play and you can get good at it, but sadly you can't even change every pad to a tom or snare sound like you can with other modules at this price so it's basically a toy not a real instrument. I wish it was the Nux DP-2000 but triggered with finger pads. Time for a remake because the concept is worthy of being done right. this version simply is not worth putting the practice time into though the concept is a great new instrument.

This is a great little drum machine. The pad layout is killer. Most of the pads are nice feeling. I don't miss trigger. Sp404mk2 misses way more. The only complaint is the kick. It's a little stiff. Hopefully it breaks in a little. I have also force, Mpc, and sp404. This thing is comparable to the Mpc pads. I'm still getting used to the layout, but it's cool. Finally had it in stock. I could replace my drums with this. USB socket is outdated, but it has a rechargeable battery. Just be careful.
This is truly addictive

This is extremely easy to pick up. The first 2 videos on yamaha product webpage really sets up the foundation to get started. From there on, the beats start flowing freely; dangerously fast. I have been loosing sleep because i cannot stop playing it.

I enjoyed this briefly. One button stopped working (couldn't handle sweat), and the USB-B port for charging simply broke. Why not to use USB-C? Yamaha says 1 year warranty, Guitar Center only 45 days... money lost.
Radical layout... is it an improvement over 4x4?

Radical layout. Let's get this out of the way. Yup, easy to adapt to the new layout and really easy to use. Annoyed that it doesn't have MIDI 5 pin din io, so had to spend another $56 on an adapter. Works perfectly....
