Great Value and playability
Being a 5'8" guy that detests the size of a dreadnaught I was drawn to this guitar. Both from a financial standpoint and playability. I mainly play electric and the acoustic is a whole other animal...This seems like middle ground between the two. Fresh out of the box, I loved the flame top and feel of the satin neck. The string action was way too high and I really had to fight it. The big E at the 12th was at .120mm that's about .020mm higher than what high action is considered. So I took the strings off and sanded it down until I was satisfied at .089mm on the big E and .079 on the little E. Added a set of extra light Elixer nanowebs 47-10. I am now amazed at the action, with no buzzing. The guitar sounds ok acoustically. No one is going to confuse it with a Taylor or Martin, but it definitely does the trick. Plugged in, I think it sounds good. Really has a good blues/rock vibe to it, and is dynamic with touch. This guitar would definitely do the trick at your local bar, and is a lot of fun to drag around wherever to play and practice. I would not ever consider this as an instrument to record with. For what it is, and the niche it fills, I love it and would recommend it. Just be aware it may need a little help!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this guitar.
I have been playing, as an amiture, for sixty years. I own several guitars. I bought this one a couple of years ago as a retirement gift to myself. It has always been kept in a case in my home. Never played out. After about 18 months the top bowed out just below the bridge. Guitar Center and Yamaha did nothing about it. I had it repaired myself. It took me a couple of months to get it done. Now the neck has begun to bend to the point that the action is unplayable. I believe that Yamaha is not ageing the woods used sufficiently to make them stable. Otherwise the design is good and the guitar played well until it failed.

I really like the size of this guitar compared to my dreadnought. The guitar looks Great too. However, the action is 3.25mm which I would say is too high from the factory. I've kind of come to expect this at the price point, and I have learned to set accoustic guitars on the two Yamahas I've purchased.
Wonderful buy for this beginner guitarist

I am a beginner. I bought a cheap guitar from another establishment. It was too big and awkward but being a newbie, I naively didn't know that guitars came in different sizes. I walked into the Guitar Center and inquired about it and got such a nice young man (I think his name was Max) and I left with this guitar. It is fantastic. It fits me perfectly. My playing has improved 100%. It's not only a beautiful guitar, but it also has a tuner on it. I'm so satisfied with my purchase.

APX600FM- I traded in a very nice recently acquired D'Angelico acoustic for this guitar because the D'Angelico was just too big-bodied for what I had in mind. Nothing at all against the D'Angelico other than the size, and what it was I needed. I'm very glad I tried out this Yamaha and out of quite a few smaller bodied guitars I tried, this one stood out the most. In just about every way. And, it sang. Played great. Perfect size (I'm primarily an electric player). I don't need big and boomy. Maybe down the road. I have always been very happy with Yamaha products and am a very proud owner of an SA2200. A stunning, absolutely stellar guitar. The APX600FM is a real looker, too. I'm very happy. This is me putting " #sweepstakes " in the message for entry purposes.

I'm just getting back into playing again and was looking for something that would be easy for me to hold. I found it with this Yamaha, it is everything I was looking for. A nice slimmer body width a really great sound. A great guitar for the $300-$400 price range.
I really enjoy this guitar, sounds great easy to play

Neck wood is listed as: Urea. Which is a plastic. This is false. The Neck Material Yamaha uses on this model is a local-sourced tonewood. The Nut and Saddle material are made from Urea and that is stated correctly in the specifications. Can you please change this?
Thank you for the feedback
