The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-785 digital piano offers an unparalleled musical experience. Its GrandTouch keyboard action and CFX grand piano sample provide the authentic feel and sound of a concert grand. The 300W speaker system, featuring Spruce Cone speakers made of tonewood used in Yamaha's acoustic pianos, fills your space with rich, nuanced sound. With a library of 53 premium voices, 14 drum kits and 480 XG voices, the CLP-785 lets you explore any musical genre.

GrandTouch Action Reproduces the Touch of a Grand Piano

Yamaha's advanced GrandTouch keyboard action incorporates counterweights on each key to precisely replicate the resistance and return of an acoustic grand piano. You'll feel the difference with every note you play. The GrandTouch action, combined with the CFX grand piano sample, makes the CLP-785 feel and sound like the real thing.

Premium Speaker System Delivers Powerful, Natural Sound

The 300W speaker system, with two 25W amps powering four Spruce Cone speakers, provides the full range of sound and volume you'd expect from an acoustic grand. Spruce wood is used in the soundboards of Yamaha pianos for its resonant tone, and now it's used in the CLP-785's speakers. The result is rich, nuanced sound that fills your space.

Intuitive Touch Display and Hundreds of Voices

Selecting voices and adjusting settings on the CLP-785 is simple thanks to the intuitive touch display. With 53 premium voices, including CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano samples, 14 drum kits and 480 XG voices, you have a world of sound at your fingertips. Four fortepiano voices even let you experience the music of Bach and Mozart as the composers intended.

Practice Tools and Recording Features

The CLP-785 includes lesson songs and 20 rhythms to help you strengthen your skills. An onboard USB audio recorder lets you capture your performances and play them back later. You can also connect the CLP-785 to the Smart Pianist app via Bluetooth MIDI to access more advanced features like score display, piano roll and chord charts.

I grew up with a Clavinova that still plays wonderfully after over twenty years. I have owned one or two acoustics along the way, but wanted to return to the flexibility that a digital piano provides. I played a variety of mid-level CLP 800 series, then played the one remaining 785 in the showroom. Once I played it, I was sold. The increase in price definitely correlates to an increase in quality. I am a lifelong player, however for personal enjoyment only. Therefore I will provide no technical feedback. What I can say is that my CLP-785 is my daily delight. Everyone who comes to my home comments on its beauty and sound quality. The polished ebony was a non-negotiable for me and I have no regrets on the cost to upgrade.

Very nice piano, keyboard and pedals feel very much like grand acoustic pianos that I have played.

I love playing this piano. The resonance of the lower keys is remarkable. It provides all the sound and fidelity of a Yamaha grand in one fifth the space.

Love this Digital Piano. I settled on this Model, the CLP 785, because it looks, feels and sounds like an actual Grand Piano. There are so many voices available to make just the kind of music that you want to make. To be as creative as you want to be. The MIDI interface is very good, however I love the Bluetooth connection. I can play background music, or complete songs, thru the Piano's awesome speaker system. This is everything that you could want in a digital piano.

I had been shopping got an acoustic grand piano for weeks when I decided I needed an upgrade from my old piano. Out of curiosity, I wanted to try the Yamaha CLP-785 and found one at Carlson's, just south of the Twin Cities. Once I sat down, I was sold. Beautiful sound and so many options. Never needs tuning, I don't need to cover it like I would have had to do with a grand, and no messing with humidity issues. I had the piano delivered the next day and have bern playing it daily since we got it last summer. Lightweight so I can slide it around for cleaning or if something falls behind it, and it's beautiful. Zero regrets.

I have always wanted to learn how to play a piano. Now that I am retired I have the time. I began taking lessons and after a few months with a cheap keyboard I decided that I needed something more substantial. I spent a lot of time online researching pianos and decided that a digital piano was the way to go. The reasons I purchased the CLP785PE are twofold. Most importantly, the keyboard had to feel like the baby grand piano I play during my lessons. The CLP785 does this remarkably well. The keys are nicely weighted and they feel like proper piano keys. There is nothing cheap or plastic about them. Secondly, I wanted the instrument to look like an acoustic piano. I didn't want there to be screens or buttons to distract from it's look; I didn't want it to look 'digital.' The polished ebony finish was a bonus. I would have purchased matte black (to save a little money) but the store only had the polished ebony. The owner told me that this piano deserved nothing less than this finish. I'm really glad my new piano has this finish. I have shown my piano to friends and they are stunned to discover it is a digital. A couple play piano and were amazed at how much it feels, and sounds, like an acoustic. The power of the amplification system is more than adequate. The sound fills my home, nicely. I practice every day, and I find myself sitting before it at different times of the day and night. I didn't do this with my keyboard. This piano is a real joy to play. The built-in metronome has been helpful. I have sampled some of the many voices but find myself returning to the default CFX. I would definitely recommend this piano to anyone looking for a quality instrument. I can think of nothing negative to say about it.
